I think "sex positive" is mostly used to gaslight women into having sex before they are comfortable with it because it labels wanting to wait with sex or not wanting to try some weird fetish as "sex negative" (aka prudish, conservative, repressed etc.).
It's bullshit, too. I am totally sex positive. I don't have a negative attitude towards sex. I just want to have it on my terms, which means not right away and without all the weird and abusive fetishes that are considered "normal" these days. I think sex under the right circumstances is great. I am totally positive towards loving, consensual sex with a partner in a commited relationship.

I just thought of something. By adding 'sex positivity' aren't you already inserting the conversation or importance of sex as a whole with a total stranger, and therefore breaching that person's level of comfort with sex without their approval? damn
P.S. Other terms to watch out for (and avoid using in your own profile) are:
ADVENTUROUS: You mean you've travelled or you're into sky diving or exotic new foods, but HE means, "slut with no boundaries willing to be a free whore".
OPEN-MINDED: You mean. "independent thinker who explores new ideas and welcomes different viewpoints and discussion". HE means, "slut with no boundaries willing to be a free whore".
EASY-GOING: You mean, well, easy-going. HE means, "pushover with no boundaries willing to be a free whore AND maid service, ATM, car rental/chauffeur and therapist whom he will ditch to be with his friends all day before texting for a midnight booty call.
Agree with all the comments. This term is being co-opted and misused to serve nefarious, GROSS agendas. My work as a playwright is 100% women-centric and speaks openly about sex and dating. In particular, it calls men out on how all women have a LOT of bad sex because men are selfish in bed. It's all done humorously and the male actors love it! The women in the show speak unashamedly about their desire for (good!) sex. People of both sexes have called it "sex positive" because of this. I admit I had to get use to it and embrace it as the very good thing it was because the term had been somewhat tainted by certain groups using it to normalize perversion, and shame those who oppose it. I guess it's kind of like being called "feminist"...depends what kind!
Anytime I see an ad that mentions "sex positive", whether it's online dating or a roommate search, I am wary because I know it means the person is unsavory, irresponsible, unsafe, and wants to push their kink lifestyle in your face. Otherwise, WHY would I need to know about their sex life? That's private. Unless, they don't want it to be because they want to parade their freaky shit in front of you, screw random people with strap-ons in the living room, and call you biggoted/prudish/kink-shaming/slut-shaming/puritanical/sexually repressed, etc. if you find it disgusting and disturbing.
In OLD, it's definitely a warning sign! BEWARE: CHRISTIAN GREY WANNA BE. SANS MONEY AND LOOKS.
STD-riddled, pornsick fuckboy, weird fetishes included.
Will expect anal on the first date and a poly "relationship" going forth.
HIV positive, clamydia positive, syphyllis positive, gonorrhea positive. Herpes positive, hpv positive, hepatitis positive, mgen positive, scabies positive.
just a really positive person. Probably positive in ways we don't even know yet!
It means you can swipe left on those profiles THAT much faster... 🙅♀️😬
It means they intend to pump and dump you faster than it takes to unmatch you.
Sounds pretty gross,
Proud to be sex negative myself.
It means they’re relationship negative.
Means they’ll shame and ridicule anyone that doesn’t have the same gross and questionable lifestyle they do !
Into weird shit under the guise of being pRoGrEsSiVe
My new favorite quip when I’m pressured into some weird shit under the guise of sex-positivity is:
“You’re not being sex positive. You’re just rape-positive.”
It means RUN.
It means they're not worth matching with.
The (male)left has hijacked a term created for sexual independence FROM men to support their vile fetishes
It means he's a filthy slut.
