Listening to the FDS podcast has upped my standards so much but I'm still struggling with the vetting process. I am a newly pickmeisha in recovery so to speak.
Anyway, I matched with this 42 year old (I'm 34) on a dating app. Conversation was flowing and of course I found him attractive. THEN when I asked him to send me a live current pic of him, he looked so much older than his app pics!! I then looked him up on Facebook and saw all those pics were from 8-10 years ago! I feel super pissed off and misled. One of my girlfriends told me this is actually a huge red flag and to tread carefully with this guy. Would you ladies consider this a reason to cut him off? I mean every time I talk to him I feel resentful!
Also the fact that he's 8 years older than me pisses me off too because of everything I've learned from FDS. I feel entitled to a guy my age or at most 5 years older. How do you guys keep from hating men after listening to the podcasts?
They do this. Block and delete. Remember - they wouldn’t like it if you were old or fat.
You're interested in a guy your age and this guy used pictures from when he was in that age range, so he mislead you. I think you should pull the plug. You're already feeling resentful, it's not going to get better. If you continue talking to him as if nothing has happened, in his mind you will have "passed the test" so not only will he think that this is ok with you, he'll probably try to get away with worse later on.

I figured out 99% of the men are trash, now I need to figured out I should put my self out there regardless, but approaching with cautious. I am not on this second step yet. Block and delete. Old, entitled, lying men deserve to die alone. That scrote knows he’s too ugly and horrible to get women his own age and that’s why he has to use deception to get women to even look at him. His prime was a decade ago, thinking he’s good enough for younger women (or, being honest, any woman at all) is his own delusion. These dudes who go after young girls are creepy, icky, entitled freaks who deserve to die alone and in squalor. Scrotes gonna scrote. Honestly? I’ve become very good at blocking and deleting online and simply walking away in public from scrotes. I only give my precious time and attention to men who’ve earned it. And I wouldn’t say I feel entitled to men around my age, it’s not entitlement to want someone your age, it’s common sense. Anyone looking for a large age gap has something mentally wrong with em.
