One way to vet a man: Does he make you a priority? + A reminder to always put yourself first!

I'm a huge football fan (or soccer to the American readers) and recently, a popular English footballer named Mason Mount was reported to have broken up with his girlfriend, Chloe, of 5 years to focus on his football career, especially his preparation for the World Cup, which started last week Sunday.

He was reported as saying: "Football is my priority". Reading this made me want to say that one important thing to look out for in a man is if he makes you a priority in his life. That isn't to say that he shouldn't focus on his career or any other thing or person that is of importance to him but if you find yourself on the back burner several times and he puts other things or people above you constantly, then you should know what to do - end the relationship and leave.

I can only imagine how sad Chloe must feel. Us women date men and imagine futures with them while men are just using the women they're in relationships with to while away time and at a moment's notice will dump a woman if he wants to focus on achieving their dream. Notice how women can focus on working on something and be with a guy? It's either men can't multitask or they feel that whatever it is they want is more important than their girlfriend - the answer here is that yes, men aren't great multitaskers but a man that has found his dream girl won't let her go because he wants to achieve something in life. He will want his dream girl by his side as he goes on to achieve his dreams, with the aim of sharing his success with her.

This should remind us all to make our wants, desires, dreams and goals our number one priority. DO NOT EVER PUT A MAN BEFORE YOURSELF. Always put your goals first because men can and will dump you to focus on theirs.
