The more I think about this, it’s a vetting strategy. Had a guy in chat just desperate to talk on the phone so I offered him my Google. He got upset that it wasn’t my real phone number, how telling. To my way of thinking a HVM would completely understand the need for a burner number in this age of no privacy, doxxing, etc.
No surprise after I gave Desperate Phoner my Google number, no contact. Fine by me. He wanted 24/7/365 access, possibly also he could have stalked me. I love, love, love telling men I’ve just met who want a way to contact me that I’m giving them a burner number just to see their reaction. Tells me everything I need to know.
I do this but I don't mention it's my Google number. I've yet to move a guy from that to my normal number though lol. Though I might with this current guy for the first time lol. Idk if I'll just say "hey text me here instead." I don't feel a need to make it known that I'm using a different number. I rather keep that knowledge to myself
I’m looking up how to do this now. Is it thru voice.google.com ? and can people know it’s a google number if you don’t tell them?
I did this, some guy noticed it looked like a Google Number. I told him it was. He didn’t contact me much, if anything after that. Found out he strung another woman along but ultimately was a scammer wanting her money. (We were comparing notes behind the scenes.) She wasn’t having it when he showed his true colors.
Is there a UK alternative to this?
I refused to give my number to guys on dating apps until after a positive first date. The reaction to that policy really helped me filter. Some got so mad!
