So for super bare-bones context, Taylor and her ex boyfriend from 2017, an actor namesd Joe Alwyn, broke up this April and their publicists claimed "their relationship had run its course" and that it was a mutual breakup. Then all of us Swifties slowly realized her 2022 album, Midnights was really a break up album all along, centered around Taylor desperately trying to convince herself that a failing relationship was still salvageable 😬.
Then Taylor released a vault track from Midnights called "You're Losing Me" and it basically called out Joe for being a scrote who strung her along for years with no intention to marry her (probably due to being emasculated by her success, but also not wanting to lose the benefits that came with her boyfriend (i.e Taylor's fame and her industry connections))
Now for the longest time, this song wasnt available on streaming, but today, Taylor changed that. In honor of her being named Spotify's top global artist, she decided to release You're Losing Me as thanks to all her fans asking for it.
And now her favorite producer, Jack Antonoff (whose wife coincidentally just starred in a movie with Joe🤔) made a celebratory Instagram post revealing this song was written/recorded by Taylor ALL THE WAY BACK IN 2021 MEANING THAT SHE WROTE IT EVEN BEFORE SHE WROTE THE REST OF MIDNIGHTS AND GAVE JOE 2 WHOLE YEARS TO FIX HIS BEHAVIOR BEFORE FINALLY DUMPING HIS ASS IN 2023 (yes. I know it's pickmeisha behavior but not all of us our lucky to have FDS in our lives and it's not Taylor's fault she hasn't discovered it yet)
It also means Taylor gave Joe the biggest warning sign ever in the form of a whole ass album about how she wasnt happy in the relationship (an album which he co-wrote songs on btw) in 2022 and he STILL didn't read the goddamn room 😭
Suffice to say, now all of Twitter is roasting Joe and everyone who insisted on giving him grace following the breakup even after hearing You're Losing Me for the first time back in May is changing their mind. Learning Taylor wrote such a heartbreaking song and still tried to save the relationship for 2 years is unforgivable in the eyes of any True Swiftie.
Jack really said, that if Taylor
wouldn't expose Joebless, then he would and I love him for that 🥰. He also happens to have produced a lot of my favorite songs with her.
And now I'm gonna let this following compilation explain the rest
