I just booked a flight to visit Spain with a gay friend in January. I've been to Europe several times, the last few times were with my ex.
The difference between then and now? Night and day.
- My ex split costs 50/50, and my friend is using his points to pay for my 5 star hotels. He has refused my offers of payment
- The ex left all research and planning to me. My friend is from Spain, and has taken the full brunt of planning and scheduling. Everything! Trains, restaurants, day trips etc. He loves it and has offered to plan everything (he says just tell him what I want to do) so it's a surprise. He doesn't want me seeing all of Spain in my research, and would prefer it be a surprise.
- He's inconveniencing himself and staying an extra night in a city he doesn't like so that he can meet me at the airport and we can take the train together. My ex? LOLOLOL as if
- He takes my wants, interests and comfort into account for everything
For context, this is the friend who refuses my offers to pay for my own dinner or even his that time we were celebrating him. When we sat down, he said: "I know you said you were paying for dinner to celebrate my work, but when I said ok it was a lie. This is too nice a restaurant for us to split the bill and you're not paying for the whole thing." Again, he's gay, so it's not like he's orbiting or anything
Ladies, I've received better travel treatment from a friend than the man who used to share my bed. This blows my mind.
If he wanted to, he would. Men show you they care via money and/or time. It's the truth
omg have fun! sounds fabulous
This is so HV. Cheers to you for having such a considerate friend.
That’s so cute. Bestie material right there ✨
Can confirm. Me and my friends treat each other regularly without any issue because we appreciate the relationship we share. Any guy that takes issue with making you happy does not like you. It’s hard to accept when you’re emotionally invested in a man, but it’s the truth. If he does not make an effort, he does not value you.
I thought the point of being a straight man is to like women? 🙄 When a gay man is willing to treat you better than a straight man, then you know there's ZERO excuse for these scrotes who give low effort in courting a woman....
