Hello friends,
After years of research, shopping and traveling, I have achieved my goal of owning a second home in Europe. These two French stone cottages were sold as one house, and I’m embarking on a renovation to connect them and turn this house into a lovely 4 bedroom, 3.5 bath home. Enough room for me, and for visits from the people I love. 💗 🏡
The best part? The house(s) cost me $30,000 US. The roof and structure is solid, and there is already an adorable kitchen, bedroom, living room and bath - so it’s perfectly livable while I complete the rest!
My plan is to go back and forth until I retire (I live in the Midwest US - bleh). I’ll have my 3 grown kiddos come stay several times per year for vacations & holidays. I own my business and I work remotely, so it’s nice to have freedom after decades of corporate crap. AND my youngest is in college, so I can finally travel whenever I want!
If anyone is shopping for a home in France, my realtor Diane Lockett is a lovely British woman who truly went above and beyond for me. She’s lived in France for 18 years and her grown daughters are also there. Here are her listings: https://www.frenchestateagents.com/french-property-for-sale/agent/diane-lockett/13150
And if you’re curious, goal number 2 is to purchase a private island, and set it up as a safe, Woman-Only community. Still working on this one, but it will happen soon! 🏝️
How did you get permanent residency? Are you a dual citizen?
Welcome to Europe 😊
