For real. I am committing myself to the following rules for a more peaceful and happy holiday season, and I suggest everyone does the same! • Do not give any gifts to men. Whether it be dates, family members, friends or co-workers. If you must, get something cheap and thoughtless. It's what they do for us. • Do not help any man pick out gifts, or give him ideas of what to buy for women in his life. • Do not give any gifts on a man's behalf! Too many women buy their boyfriend's mother or sister a gift 'from him' and let him pretend he bought it. • Do not cook Christmas dinner for a man. Cooking together is okay, but most of the effort should be from him. Same with cleaning up afterwards. • Do not entertain men who are grinches. If you have to live with a man who hates the holidays, leave him at home on Christmas and go to celebrate with women in your life. If you're dating a grinch, cut him off. • Celebrate exactly the way YOU want to. A man thinks your Christmas decorations look tacky? Or your holiday outfit is ugly? Or you put too much food on your dinner plate? Fuck him, this is YOUR holiday and you will not be shamed or convinced to change anything for him. Have a beautiful holiday season, ladies. Love yourself and put yourself first. 💝

Thought I'd share. The women on r/handbags were talking about this very topic. We are all sick of these dudes coming into our communities for gift advice. Why don't they know their own wives/GFS?

Happy to say the only man I celebrate with is my dad.
When I lived in New York, I always felt like I was dating low-key grinches during Christmas. It seemed strange, considering New York is a hotbed of Christmas decor during the holidays.
I commented to an acquaintance about what I'd noticed, and he said, "That's easy. Just stop dating Jewish guys!" (At that point, I had dated a few "non-religious" Jewish men, but I guess being even slightly Jewish prevented them from enjoying Christmas.)
I mention my anecdote to say that if celebrating Christmas is important to you, then you should not date someone who is lackluster or "just tolerant" towards Christmas. You should date a man who celebrates Christmas as enthusiastically as you do.
