Some excerpts from the New York Times opinion article.
No dating men, no sex with men, no heterosexual marriage and no childbirth. These are the four principles of South Korea’s 4B movement, a radical feminist movement that gained popularity in 2019, in response to sexism, hidden camera pornography and intimate partner violence.
Trump’s win was devastating for many women. Their rage is understandable, but a 4B-style reaction is not constructive or sustainable. Women shouldn’t reduce their ability to demand policy changes and equal dignity to the ways in which we should or should not have sex or bear children. The 4B philosophy is shortsighted, primarily because it demonizes men, including those who champion equality and reproductive freedom, while constraining the women who participate in it.
Women also must take this opportunity to bring men along with us. Changing gender roles is a main reason many young men say they feel economically and socially left behind.
Instead of boycotting men, feminists should acknowledge the legitimate ways men have lost ground in education, employment and health.

This sounds like a load of pick-me nonsense. Her and other woman who think like her can have these failed men.
Ugh, what this author fails to realize is that it’s not women’s responsibility to drag along mediocre men and suffer for it. Women are simply choosing to protect themselves first and are done coddling men’s egos while sacrificing their own sanity and safety. If men step up and show us that they’re worth our time, yeah maybe we’ll consider letting them into our lives. It really is that simple!
It’s also funny because we’re not trying to take away men’s rights and yet this author and men act like we are. We just want some peace and quiet and for them to leave us alone. Oh boohoo poor men we’re not bending over backwards for anymore!! 🤣🤣
Though, one thing I feel like a lot of women are approaching incorrectly with the 4B movement is doing it to “get back” at men. This is the wrong approach, because unfortunately there will always be pickme women who give men what they want so we aren’t really getting any sort of “revenge”. There will always be women willing to have casual sex with men. So if you join the 4B movement, do it for yourself! Don’t worry about what the men and pickmes are doing in the meantime while you enjoy your peaceful life without all the drama.
Also, as an educator boys are left behind because they fool around in class, and their parents expect less of them than of girls. Nothing to do with 4B, all with pampering and coddling.
"but a 4B-style reaction is not constructive" Well, it sure as hell isnt DEstructive, unless we're talking about chipping away at the patriarchy. This author seems to think women refusing sex with men is some kind of crime.
"The 4B philosophy is shortsighted, primarily because it demonizes men, including those who champion equality and reproductive freedom"
Or in other words: nOt aLl MeN
Nah, it’s not my responsibility to fix broken men. 4B isn’t looking to change them. We gave up on them it’s a mass rejection of them and the toxic masculinity they cling to.
It’s weird that pick mes are upset about it, it just means more men for them.
But I guess if their self esteem comes from “at least I got a man!” I guess I understand why they would feel threatened to learn that a whole bunch of us don’t want a man because of how men are.
And it is misogyny to claim that rejecting men is misandry. They aren’t entitled to my body, withholding my time and attention and vagina from them doesn’t mean I hate them. I’m not trying to take away their rights or anything, it’s just that they don’t have a right to me or any other woman.
why do they expect us to live with the maladjusted men and they don't even TRY To tolerate women with standards.
Nice try, Satan.
I would like to visit Korea someday and it's not about pretty boys, I'd rather hang out with the badass feminists.
The value I see in these bogus articles is that they may help throw men off the scent of 4B women if they are led to believe most reject it and that it’s business as usual. That their DMs are dry for the usual reasons, and not because women have abandoned them to extinction.
Most men who champion equality use it to get brownie points. Men cannot be feminists. All of them still watch porn, multidate, or cheat.
Decenetring men is great for women’s mental health
We have 60+ years of the sex-posi gravy train to thank for this.
A sex strike only disappoints LVM.
Not a HVM? Not married to me? No sex.
This is where the bar belongs.
Do they hear themselves? Are they saying men’s rights are having access to our bodies?
Have we not acknowledged enough? What is acknowledging their struggles gonna do for them strategically? How is it helping them? She might as well say let's bring those old gender norms back so men are comfy mummy.
Their rage is understandable, but a 4B-style reaction is not constructive (cause society runs on Barb the Builders) or sustainable (cause men will just start raping us Brock Turner style in huge waves, anyway). Women shouldn’t reduce their ability to demand policy changes and equal dignity to the ways in which we should or should not have sex or bear children (because society as we know it will collapse without more babies). The 4B philosophy is shortsighted (for society, but not the individual), primarily because it demonizes men (and exposes them for who they really are), including those who champion equality and reproductive freedom (to get liberal pussy), while constraining the women who participate in it (from the clutches of men).
Women also must take this opportunity to bring men along with us (so they don't have to do any of the hard work of inner change). Changing gender roles is a main reason many young men say they feel economically and socially left behind (cause they can't rely on Barb the Builders anymore to do all the shit they don't feel like doing).
Instead of boycotting men, feminists should acknowledge the legitimate ways men have lost ground in education, employment and health (but leave out the part where it's men's own fault for failing in a society they built for themselves).
