Why is it so controversial to call things what they are? Why are we (and by we I mean most of patriarchal society) calling prostitutes "sex workers"? Why are we calling paraphilias "kinks"? Why are we calling pedophiles "minor attracted person's"? Why are we calling men in dresses "women"?
Notice how all of these words that have been changed to lessen the weight of the real definition harm women first and foremost? I just find it funny how people (usually scrotes) insist that feminism isn't necessary when we have words being changed to exclude and harm women.
We can't even refer to our own sex and gender without a witch hunt ensueing.
I've been wondering this myself. There's no point in engaging in this sort of baby talk except manipulate women into doing shit that benefits the patriarchy (like making a scrote's paraphilia seem more acceptable by calling it a kink). This newspeak is just made to shield the cold-hard truth and sugarcoat the bad into something normal.
Can we throw “uncomfy” in there too? Grown women reverting to baby talk so they don’t sound too assertive when stating their boundaries around men.
Two words: Manufactured consent.
I noticed this with my family. My insanely patriarchal, religious family members refused to say the word "puberty," because they associated sex with bad stuff - probably because my male family members suck at sex, and my female family members just don't expect anything good. This is not healthy. My mom, on the other hand, sat us down at about 8 or 10 and showed us some diagrams and used the real words. This is damn near next to calling a vagina an "ouch box," and I never feel bad for religious men stuck in dead end marriages with wives they can't fuck the life out of anymore.
Agreed.
I flat-out refuse to refer to myself as a cis-woman, which apparently marks me as a threat/flaming transphobe in my current workplace.
I refer to myself as a woman. Plain and simple.
Men are trash. World gaslighters. Think about how pedos groom kids by calling privates & seggs acts a different word....🤔 🤔🤔 And you'll see this society wide grooming too!
yeah. fuck the patriarchy, and not in the literal sense.
I remember way back when I first heard the terms "cis" and "trans" in the news. As a Chem major, I was like, "Yes! The vernacular of society is about to include Organic Chemistry terms for isomers!" Then I realized they weren't bringing up the IQ of the public. They were changing the meaning of "spayed" and "neutered" to something more palatable to the uninformed. A trans isomer is a flipped image of the normal "cis" configuration of that molecule.
