I've heard that expression before but had no idea of where it came from. Honestly, even the phrase yucking someone's yum makes me feel a little nauseated 😂
It's not a bad list, but I do somewhat dislike the pressure on women to be "sex positive", as if that's a switch we can flick. Some of us are rightfully sex negative because all men have ever done to us is disappoint at best and abuse at worst. Of course, the end goal is to feel better about our sexuality again, but it can be a long and hard journey, and some might never arrive due to unspeakable trauma, and might only be able to do "sex neutrality". The whole movement rarely seems to be about true healing and more about having an attitude towards sex that is palatable and comfortable for others because they don't want to be reminded of the reality of misogyny and abuse.
That’s valid. I think that’s why they clarified sex positivity isn’t about pressuring others though. Such as making sexually traumatized asexual individuals feel like they have to become sex positive when it is okay to be neutral.
