We need a whole post about this...matter of a fact, we need a whole book about how the patriarchy as a whole has normalized child abuse. Men neglecting their kids because chores aren't "manly", little girls forced to be mom #2 because dad doesn't wanna be parent no.2, young boys forced to become a provider when dad dies at 10 because the culture doesn't allow women to have jobs...it's a lot.

I hear so many comments and women come into my job with their kids saying "I just don't trust their dad /he doesn't watch them enough /he's lazy... so I had to bring them along. First of all, no one made an issue of you bringing your kids along, and no one had asked, so the fact that she needs to tell me and everyone else shows she knows it's wrong that her baby daddy won't step up to the plate.

A grown man is capable of changing a diaper and preparing a milk bottle. It's not hard. It's basic parenting. Even most kids know how to take care of little kids.
