When you marry an LVM #2: Dad of two girls receives news he is not getting the boy that he wanted

Doesn’t seem fake, and really bums me out. I could feel the “nervous fix it” energy through the phone in her attempts to make his tantrum lighter and funny. As if his absolute fit over not getting a son was … acceptable and also her problem to solve, stop, and sweep under the rug. I’m sad and scared for her. I hope family and friends see it and encourage her to get herself and those girls out of there.

I've witnessed a mantrum about this on Facebook. FB friend announced she was having a third daughter, her husband commented on the announcement how frustrated & disappointed he was that it wasn't a boy - and only in a half joking manner (lhe dropped f-bombs like the guy in the vid). People responded with jokes & congrats to lighten the mood but it was awkward how aggressive his frustration came across. These scrotes should be thankful that a women created life with them at all.

What a nasty, ungrateful, abusive little scrote. It's normalising this casual disregard for women and allowing men to get away with seeing us as less that props up the patriarchy and encourages pickmes on their path to self-destruction. I would be so hurt if I found out that my father reacted like this on hearing that I was a girl. Personally, if I have children I would much prefer to have daughters. However, I could never even dream of behaving like that or even being disappointed if I was expecting a son. If you choose to have a child you should be emotionally mature enough to love it regardless of the gender. Not sure why he wants to pass on that receding hairline anyway.

Lol a grandmother upset with a grandson is nothing compared to a father not liking the fact that he has another daughter. You're not a good father if another daughter creates that kind of reaction. Sons are preferred and daughters are underappreciated. It has been that way since forever.
