“Therapy” is the 21st-century Western world’s primary method of gaslighting women. “Therapy”, in its current form, is a tool of the patriarchy to keep women in check. Most therapists are decidedly not FDS-oriented. They don’t think in terms of maximizing female benefit. They think mainly in terms of making women get along in a patriarchal society.

This is why any woman with an ounce of sense will avoid therapy like the plague.

Therapy (with a qualified therapist!) is incredibly helpful for people trying to process their trauma and move beyond it. It is excellent for people who have personal growth they are working on.

I don’t think it’s particularly helpful for relationships, if your therapist is not aligned with your personal views on relationships.

And, of course, there are many men out there misusing therapy as a way to get new methods of manipulating women. That’s a serious societal issue, because so many men genuinely need therapy but will never get what they need out of it because they’re not committed to personal growth, they’re just there to feed their ego and justify their actions.

I always, always advocate for interviewing multiple therapists and ensuring you find someone you connect with, and respect and admire, before you get vulnerable with them and begin working with them.
