I went into the article specifically to check the ages after reading the headline which obvs blames the mother entirely… then of course I saw that she’s married to the old scrote and must have been so young when they got together. He’s despicable.
Something I noticed with my narc ex is that he acted like my biggest fan/cheerleader. Even though he was subtly chipping away at my self-esteem (and credit score), when it came to parenting, he made it seem as if I could do no wrong. Of course, I see now that this was because he didn't want to have to do any parenting himself. So leaving it all up to me was the easiest method. BUT this was kind of dangerous as a new mom who was also still finding herself and learning how to navigate the world. This woman that is mentioned here has a lot of dangerous beliefs that are likely due to her youth and naivety. Her older (groomer) husband probably knows better, but would rather be a backseat parent, even if it means watching their children suffer. Like a true friend, a HV partner will support us when right, but speak the truth in love when we are wrong. We need to surround ourselves with people who will gently correct us when needed.
