There is a place I go hiking that has a flat trail around the mountain that I have to take to get to and from the mountain.
An old geezer walking the flat path approached me and told me he hasn't seen me around here (this is a retirement community and the old folks are nervous about who is moving in) but my dog has been sick for most of the year and needed to stabilize... We were by a busy road with heavy traffic and I also carry a knife, mace, and more and the old folks walking the flat piece will often say, "Hi" so I just didn't think much of this.
I could hardly understand the guy, but eventually he told me some lady in Texas called the police on him for talking to her and he said something along the lines of, "I guess she thought I was a Ted Bundy." At that moment I stepped even further back from him, sized up his arms, and realized this lurch looking asshole could knock me out fast if he wanted to. I said something like, "Alright have a good one" and just booked it quickly with my dog.
It must have been noon in broad daylight with sooo many cars able to see us, but I just don't understand where a man gets the audacity to approach a girl minding her own business walking her damn dog and have the lack of wherewithal to not understand that mentioning police calls and Ted Bundy the second you say, "Hi" is enough to send the girl and her dog by proxy into a state of shock. TF? Get a clue.
The encounter left me super uneasy and I've been thinking about it since it happened.
The old guys I've encountered around there mind their business usually or just say a quick hi. Maybe a fast chat about the weather or whatever. The older women are so fun to talk to, but it is usually quick too as we are all out walking or hiking or exercising somehow.
Not to say I ever have my guard down while hiking (I don't!) but this one kinda threw me for a whirl. I haven't had any weird encounters there, but I guess it just reminded me to keep my head on a swivel and not take shit for granted.
Just kind of needed to get this off my chest.
They enjoy doing this and scaring you. Luckily as a adult woman scrotes mostly do not bother me in public.
I remember however them scaring me and intimidating me as a 9 (approx), 11,12,13,15,16,17 year old. Men loved approaching me and being creepy or asking me personal questions.
I remember when I was 9 or so I was walking behind my mum when a old scrote jumped out at me to scare me and terrified me.
I remember when. I was 16 a old scrote truck driver yelling out at me and making a scary smiling face.
When I was 17 being followed from the library and a scrote interrogating me about the cut scars on my leg.
Men just like the scare women but especially little girls and teenagers.
In a city center, I look them dead in the eye to assert dominance, like with a dog. It usually works. But at a secluded space I'd just say "alright, have a good one" and leave. Then again I live in a country with very few gunowners.
Yikes! If you see him again, and if he approaches you, call the cops. This guy is bad news.
