Women aren't allowed to have nice things. Apparently men in Cali filed a class action lawsuit against Bumble for discrimination bc they aren't allowed to message women first on the app. We all know that's the whole point of Bumble bc it cuts down on scrotey behavior if women have to start the convo. Bumble denied any discrimination but agreed to a settlement.
So...now men who used Bumble in Cali can get a settlement check bc they were DENIED the opportunity to harass women on a dating app.
This wins the male audacity award for the week. I didn't know about this story until today and wanted to share.
Welp I'm definitely never downloading the app now since they reward male tantrum like that. I'll safely assume the quality of men on there is shite
Doesn’t the app state up front that women message first? If you don’t like that, choose a different app.
Shouldn’t they have had to prove they suffered a loss? For them to have suffered a loss, they would have had to prove a woman would have replied to their message - highly doubt that women respond to these scrotes!
I don't know what's more hilarious, the fact that they each get $71.68 (look out Vegas!) and 20 free Bumble “SuperSwipes” or that the main scrote suing is named "Man-Sour" ... Either way, they still don't get to talk first 🤣
How are these men winning these type of law suits? I'm flabbergasted. I mean, surely on the basis of women experiencing a highly disproportionate amount of harassment on apps, there is a valid need to have an app where they can message first?
Secondly, why doesn't the judge just say to them to make their own app where only men can message first? (Yes, I know no women would use this app.) It's the fact that these claims are always taken seriously in the courts that I cannot understand.
Why did they f-ing settle?
Maybe with that 90 bucks they can take a woman on a decent dinner date instead of "coffee or tea?"
glad I stopped using Bumble not too long ago. Men seemed extra upset that they had to wait on my time to get messages.
To date, Mansour’s counsel have not been compensated for any work or out-of-pocket expenses on this case. As part of the settlement, Mansour’s counsel may apply to the Court for an award of up to $3.25 million in attorneys’ fees, to be paid separately by Bumble.
Is this how lawyer stuff usually works? A lawyer did all that work for "free" just because mofos were in their feelings? 🤣 I can't. At least the woman who sued her date had a valid reason to take him to court. She sued for emotional distress because her date ghosted her on her late mother's birthday.
