I don’t like roundabout solutions. I want these misogynist judges and lawmakers out of their jobs. We are half the population and we are growing in economic strength. We need political movements and organizing.

True, with exercise bands of the right strength, and plenty of YouTube home strength and cardio programs, we don't need the gym.

The gym is called "live, laugh, run" in a pink sparkly sign. Omfg I imagined gym cats too! I'll work out so hard when britneys toxic comes on and Taylor Swift. All the windows are blocked out by those privacy screens that still let light in. The actual free weights that men hog are hidden in a back room so they think the gym is for real just all the cardio they hate so much in the main room. And you have to share your star sign and how the planets were aligned on your bday on the application. There's a tarot card reader than comes once a week and sits in a kiosk out front to repel men. The essay on why porn is bad alone will keep men away so hard 😂 on Fridays we have vegan snack foods available.

No we need to dethrone idiot, uneducated, half wit judges and start shaming them in society.

I absolutely hate the separate but equal argument applied to men and women on shared spaces. It's purposefully denying women's differences or acknowledging our value in order to make us 'the same' as men

It’s not the gym that is at fault. It’s not even the idiot man who sued. I want us to go after the judges and lawmakers who allow this bullshit and get to walk around our society as if they are worthy of their titles. They need to be stripped of their licenses and their salaries and possessions confiscated and redistributed directly to women in need directly that are suffering from violence from men.

Unfortunately the only way to deal with judges and lawmakers is to vote them out or vote out whomever appoints them. Where I live we get to vote to retain some judges every few years but it's rare one gets voted to be dismissed. Even when they are, it's merely a suggestion, not a mandate. The powers that be do not have to remove a judge because the people say so. It's so rare that average voters have contact with more than one or two judges or have any idea how they typically operate. Probably the second best way to deal with this is suing the gym. The first best way going public about their discriminatory & unsafe facilities. Most gyms business models depend on a large number of female customers, especially now. When the women feel unsafe in a gym, they go away. Then the gym faces bankruptcy.

My gym addresses this by making obscurely worded rules and policies that don't directly target male behavior but still target unwanted male behavior. It honestly took me awhile to figure out what they meant. When asked they gave very vague answers. My gym has a rule prohibiting grunting. It's so odd sounding. But I realized the rule targets intense weight training where someone makes a lot of noise in the process, the kind that is centered in a male dominated atmosphere. Now I have worked around body builders of all kinds so I know this isn't limited to men. They say it's their culture. With some thoughts about body building culture, I get it, but it took me some time. It's vague but it works to eliminate a type of gym culture that a majority of women avoid. They also prohibit liability problems like dead lifting and a few other activities favored by competitive weight lifters and some men.

The are gyms that favor and encourage mainstream, fitness-focused but not competitive-focused customers. The competitive lifters complain about this gym. There are gyms that focus on their needs, just not this one. The liability issues with potential injuries are much more serious with the type of lifting they do. So chains, franchise gyms are trying to avoid the financial liabilities of someone destroying their back while deadlifting too much weight. In a round about way, it does succeed in creating an atmosphere where women feel safer and are more abundantly present. I like my gym and I hope it continues to be a nice place to workout. The only time I encounter predatory men is oddly right before lunch. So I try not to work out in the late mornings.

The "rules" my gym sets to achieve this just were so vague and weird sounding that it took me awhile to understand what they were trying to accomplish. They also ban any video recording in the gym so no fitness vlogging also means no one is secretly video recording you while you work out or worse, change clothes.
