While scrolling through YouTube, I came across this scene from The Break-Up that perfectly encapsulates what we say about men.
If I were her, I'd be out of the relationship like yesterday:

I remember one time talking to a boyfriend about this scene. Surprise surprise, he didn’t get it. The day I find a man who understands this scene and sees the guy as the villain is the day I get married 😂 (kidding, obviously. The bar is in hell.)
The bf I had at the time was very much on Vince Vaughn's side of the argument and "did not understand" Jennifer Anniston's side of things because it was "not logical". I got the ick 🤡 this actually may be a great vetting tool
No, it’s a good vetting tool. Ask casually so the guy is at ease to give you his honest answer.

I went and saw this in the cinema when it came out and I remember it vividly. It was a very bleak and depressing movie (despite being dubbed a romantic comedy?!) because it depicted so accurately what goes on in most heterosexual relationships.
I can imagine that it did indeed cast a shadow on what was supposed to be a rom-com but like you said, it shows the truth of heterosexual relationships.
Brilliant observation! I've never watched the movie to know if he ends up helping her or not but yes, he found another nother sneaky way for him to avoid doing anything - by standing there, arguing with her
Yes, this would be a good way to vet a man but we all know men - a guy can tell you that the guy in the scene is an idiot while secretly thinking like him.
If you show a guy this scene, pay attention to what he says but more importantly, what he does. Who he truly is would show in his actions.
My ex husband who I left because he was stingy (thanks to an arranged marriage), not only washed the dishes, he cooked, he cleaned, he helped with laundry, he watched our son and took care of him, etc.
there is no excuse for any man not to contribute and if he doesn’t, he better be hiring a living maid or someone to help. Other than that, adios ✌️

Him playing a video game at the beginning of this scene is just so spot-on, ugggh.
Women want a man who WANTS to put in the effort of being in a relationship with us.
That's what I wish the writers had verbalized in this scene
Also I just noticed how he STILLLLLL isn’t helping with the dishes during this argument.
She is able to talk and work.
He just stands there yelling, proving her point once more
There's nothing more disgusting than a grown man playing video games. He needs a 2nd job if he can concentrate that well after work.
Ladies, serious question….
Should we use this scene to vet?I feel this would save so much time….. and give us insight of the future…
How would we even word this? “what do you think of this scene?” … it’s kinda out of nowhere.
