I work in a female-dominated field. At this company, there was a godforsaken and misguided attempt to bring in more scrotes. Who knows why. So as these things tend to happen, women who have been in the field for years if not decades, working up through the ranks, were passed over for several executive positions, who were handed to, frankly, unqualified men.
One in particular, there was drama. People on the hiring team wanted this established, wonderful woman, who had been training for and had sought mentoring for this higher-level position. She'd been with the company for over ten years. These positions don't open up very often. But the very-higher-ups overruled the hiring team and handed it to this bitter, axe-to-grind scrote.
Now this wonderful, well-trained woman is looking to leave the company. I'm heartbroken because I love working with her but FUCK this place, man, I don't blame her at all.
So he's had the position for less than six months, and recently, he's been put on suspension while HR conducts an "investigation". Because apparently, he just bleeds misogyny everywhere he goes. Shocking. I picked that up in the first meeting I ever sat in with him.
He's an executive whose team is all women. He's been particularly fond of having his next-in-command, let's say vice-executive, wait on him hand and foot, with INSANE disrespect. Go mail this personal item for me at FedEx. My lunch is in the fridge, go heat it up for me and bring it to me on a plate. Now go clean the plate. Go pick me up a coffee. Entertain my friend while I finish this meeting because I'm going out with him for lunch, but I don't want him sitting bored in the lobby. Weird, controlling, psycho shit. Bro don't you know she has like actual work to do?! She's not your secretary and this isn't the 50s?!
So apparently the vice-executive has been complaining for a WHILE, and was advised to MENTOR HIM since SHE has MORE LONGEVITY with the company. (Uncompensated of course. Just out of the goodness of her heart, you know. For the sake of, and betterment of, this company 🙄) Two other people on his team have quit in the past two months, and in the exit interview with HR complained about his toxicity. Talking over the women and shit. Not meeting deadlines and flipping out at his team that they didn't remind him. (Dude it's on your calendar. You accepted the invite. The calendar sends you reminder emails. You're a fucking tool.)
He's dramatically brought down morale, he wasn't qualified for the position in the first place, he's not a good personality fit for the team or for the company for that matter, but thank god he has a dick, right, so we can note on our demographic report that we intentionally gloss over the accomplishments of women to give bull-shit scrotes a chance to completely drive the company into the ground. 🙄🙄🙄 We're going to lose the woman who was qualified and perfect for the position, we've already lost almost half the team, and my morale and faith in the company has also been soiled--I imagine others feel the same way.
How to ruin your company and lose good people: give scrotes a chance.
I imagine the people who put him in this position were dick dizzy pickmes? Right? Too busy spinning on dick to see that they are losing qualified women to please moronic males who are good for nothings (but I thought men lived on easy mode)
Are you planning on leaving the company? If they do this to a woman who has been grinding for the company for a decade- they'll do the same to you. There will be no long term gain with this company and the strategy would be to look for another job (while still working at this company, of course, in the mean time).
If I got passed over for some scrote when I'm clearly better than him in every way, I'd leave immediately. Not even put in two weeks' notice. Fuck that noise. Let them reap what they sow.
If they don't get rid if him, then you know what, let the company burn to the ground. That's what they get for hiring someone who's unqualified.
Why don't they just fire him and hire someone who is actually qualified and not an asshole?
Are you looking to leave as well?
Peak male supremacy. Would the men in male dominated career make groups and spaces in order to recruit more women?
What you experienced is called the glass elevator. Please read up on it
Boudicca’s Scorched Earth strategy. this company needs to die.
Been there!
I was working for a company that had mostly female employees, and at first, I felt at ease in my workplace. Then a male higher-up joined us and it changed the whole work dynamic.
For some stupid reason, the company decided to make a corner of the break room into his office (it was a pretty big room) 🥴. We
felt bad that the company didn't have enough space for him, so five of us decided to build his office space and try to make it feel as private as possible.
I look back and I'm like why did I even bother? We (female staff) carried a whole office desk for this fool lol and decorated his space. Like for what!?!?
He came in halfway through the building process and thanked us for helping him move in. And get this? He didn't even bother helping us. Just watched lol🚩. We all stopped what we were doing and said, fuck this we've done enough, now it's his turn to finish up HIS OFFICE SPACE lol.
On his first week on the job, I go to the break room to take my lunch break. And this man starts screaming at me and tells me I can't be in his office space....kicks me out and shuts the door in my face.
I tell my manager that I was denied a lunch break and she was furious. She has a word with him and tells him he can't do that. It's not like I wanted to eat with him any way I had nowhere else to take my lunch break.
From then on I would take my break there and he would make me feel so uncomfortable. Like I was trespassing on his property. I did not enjoy my breaks at all. I'm so glad I left when I could.
