I got a text message from a random number. At first, I thought it was from a guy I met at church, but remembered I never gave anyone my number to anyone. Then, I thought it was a scammer but he got my first name right and where I lived. It was unnerving because he didn’t give me any context and expected me to remember him by his first name which was generic btw lol
I still can’t tell if he’s someone I met from my OLD days or IRL LOL
For context, I was out getting Starbucks and there was me a group of people (two boys and a girl) at 10:30pm. I thought it was one the boys, but it wasn’t any of them since they’re having a conversation. I was dressed like a bum in my Nike sweatpants and champion sweater doing a quick Starbucks run and going straight home when all of a sudden I get a message from him hahah
Disclaimer: I only answer because I thought it was a work message.
Here’s how it goes:
Him: Sarah (not my name)
Me: who’s this?
Him: DAVID (yes his real name)
Me: I don’t recall, please remind me…
Him: have you forgotten me?
Me: Yup
Him: We were in touch when I was in ______ (city I currently live in)
Me: When was this?
Him: It seems you have completely forgotten.
Me: Yeah and I’m gonna keep forgetting.
I’m mad because he expects me to remember him and his generic ass name like he’s special. Also, he was beating around the bush and didn’t make any effort to actually tell me who he was.
i liked your attitude hahahah
it's like he was trying to make you feel guilty for not remembering him. like... dude! that's not how texting works. you need to say "hi [name]. i'm [his name] from [situation]. i'd like to talk to you about [subject]. Are you available?" or something like that. that's how you communicate effectively through texting.
Good you did this, he thought he was so special that you were gonna remember his boring bland ass name
If I don't know you, you either ghosted me or you were so boring I forgot.
Men are creepy stalkery and murdery as fuk, and they guilt trip us for ghosting or blocking - do they know how it is to live a whole life wondering when one is going to snap and attack, I think they'd see it totally a woman's way but I still don't think they'd care
