I'm bringing this up so women here who may not know about it can become aware.
Here's the article:
It is sometimes credited to Louis because he "enjoyed watching women giving birth, he became frustrated by the obscured view of birth when it occurred on a birthing stool," Professor Lauren Dundes writes in the American Journal of Public Health. Because of this he "promoted the new reclining position."
Scholars have claimed that he liked to watch for "perverted" reasons, according to the study. The masses may have been influenced by the King, who actively promoted the birthing position, and it has since spread from there.
Well, why not change something that has worked for millenia and is safer for mother and child to cater to a man's perversion and convenience...
Here's a beautiful ancient Egyptian depiction of a woman giving birth squatting and supported by two divine midwives by the way:

ALSO. I’ve learned there are ways to flip a bridge baby naturally, lots of YouTube videos on this, to prevent the need for c sections.
This tracks, sadly. Now we have the added challenge (which keeps it this way) of epidurals being pushed so much...you can't feel your legs so you can't squat to push 🤷♀️
