So, I work with this dude who is early 20's and just graduated with his bachelor's degree in biological sciences. He is a self-proclaimed philosopher
and is constantly throwing around scientific names of things when nobody really asked to show that he knows it. He also won't listen to me when I teach him things and actively does the task how he wants (incorrectly) and only corrects himself when another man tells him he's doing it wrong. I have years of experience in this industry. Example: Well be on a walk or something and he sees a house sparrow and he goes "oh wow look Passer domesticus" instead of just saying the birds name lol. Does anybody know what I am talking about and have the vocabulary to describe this type of insufferable type dude?
I like to call them STEM-lords bc they also tend to be the type of insufferable prick who thinks that the arts are useless, completely forgetting that their beloved anime waifus and video games would cease to exist without the arts.

Does the work you guys do have to do with natural history? If so, the term for this guy is "he's gonna have a really hard time finding a good job and holding on to it if he, with his bachelor's degree and little experience, enters new workplaces thinking he's the smartest and best all the time" with "had people telling him how great he is in college for some reason, and now belives that he'll always be an outstanding big fish in a small pond" vibes. Its a mouthful, but man do I know the type! They dont last long.
