I want to learn better fashion and makeup so I can start dressing up my friends and other women in my family.
I can kind of do hair and I love seeing my female family members faces light up when theys see the end result!
It always makes me happy when I see women reaching their goals too. I remember my grandma doing a little dance and was glowing with glee when she got compliments from other family members 🥰.
This feeling is one of the best. I remember during our latest (and probably last) family reunion around 5 years ago I literally was the only one present who knew how (or just bothered) to do braids and other complicated hairstyles. I was also the only adult (I was a fresh 18yo so barely) who wasn't blackout drunk and gossiping at the dinner table. My then 9yo cousin would just sit in front of me and I spent the entire time just doing her hair and entertaining her while we were in the living room. She was having so much fun though trying out different styles so it was totally worth it. Plus I was kind of distracting her from the adults' drama because I knew what it was like and didn't want her to go through the classic "being in the crossfire of drunk adults at the dinner table"-experience. It felt nice making her comfortable in an otherwise akward situation. I haven't seen her since so I hope she's doing well.
Yes! I used to think all that stuff was so tedious and a waste of time, but once I learnt it, it gave me confidence that nothing else ever has.
