Tldr: my brother and his micro-dick friend hit my dog with the front door. It was apparently my fault.
Well, my brother had his asshole friend over just now, and as he was leaving and closing the front door, my dog (blind but good hearing) got up to run to the front door while barking at him(she only ever gets crazy whenever this particular guy comes over). Keep in mind: she ALWAYS does this whenever he comes over. Well, this time, since she is blind, she apparently hit the door really hard while this guy was closing the door. Actually, my brother was there too when this happened. So I'm in the other room and I hear my dog hit the door and she starts choking and wheezing. After a couple moments, she doesn't stop so I go over to see what happened. When I get there, they're both just standing there staring like she's just some derpy dog choking for some reason. My dog is 14 btw. SHE'S BLIND. She ALWAYS gets crazy whenever he comes over. They KNOW this. She's choking still and I panic so I just blurt out "you guys need to be more careful" because SHE'S ELDERLY. SHE'S BLIND. SO SHE IS PRONE TO GET HURT.
Keep in mind: I didn't yell at them angrily, I said this in a worried tone of voice because I thought my dog seriously got hurt.
They were at the door, they already KNOW how she acts whenever a-hole comes over. They were both there, yet apparently they couldn't prevent her from getting hit hard by the front door while they were laughing as they were about to SLAM the door shut. Because that's what guys like to do apparently! Slam doors as hard as they can! So as soon as I said what I said, they just act all confused like they don't know what they did. They were just like "oh wE dIdNT kNoW sHE wAS gOInG tO dO thAt??". I tell them she is blind and they know how she acts up so of course she will end up getting hurt if she's not careful. They're like, yeah, they know she's blind and all that. So I said that's why they need to be careful. A-hole McFuckFace just looks at me for a second then just starts laughing and he leaves. No apologies. No explanations. No "sorry it was an accident and we'll be careful next time". I honestly got so pissed off at him, so I yell "yeah thanks for the apology" at the both of them. This sets my brother off and he's like "[My name], we didn't KNOW she was going to do that!" I'm like, she's blind, she acts up when fartface comes over. She's prone to get hurt. They hit her so hard I heard it from the other room. Then my brother's started to say that she hit the door! Neither of them did anything!
Fucking seriously? So like since she is a 14-year-old blind dog. She should have known better than two men in their 30's, so it's all the damn dog's fault.
Oh no, wait! Actually it was MY fault that I didn't run over there while I was doing work on my computer to prevent her from magically getting hurt by the apparently self-closing front door! I should have known when Mr. Fungis for brains decided to leave so that I can superwoman over there to protect my dog from harm after working for like 5 hours straight and so that these men wouldn't have to worry about a thing! They were so tired after hours of playing videogames. Teehheee. I should have known!
In the end, my brother yelled at me for not simply asking (in a cool as a cucumber manner, of course) "What happened?" Instead of "you guys should have been more careful" because that's me putting BLAME on them! Oh no! I shouldn't have hurt their feelings like that! I should be really calm, cool and really fucking logical every hour of the day. No matter what. I shouldn't of accused them of anything. I shouldn't make them feel bad for anything! I should have been robotic when I thought my dog got seriously hurt. Otherwise, I'm just hysterical!
What the fuck ever. My dog is still groaning in pain right now, I'm not even shitting.
Sounds like an attempt to gaslight you. These guys KNOW they just want to avoid responsibility.
I think they have no empathy. I have an instrument and mother showed it off to a bunch of Teens without my consent I got annoyed but I noticed the girls just looked at it so my mind was at peace, when their male friend looked at it he damaged my Kalimba by ruining the strings. I never felt the urge to deck someone. Men can’t be happy for you, they like to ruin things and dont give a crap about how you feel.
Empathy is a learned skill; it’s not inborn. And most boys aren’t raised to be empathetic, so they do lack empathy.
Yikes. So many low value brothers are disturbing the peace in FDSers’ homes these days. Def a trend in today’s posts. 😔
I'd be hissing in his friend's ear that if his carelessness ever hurt my dog again, I'd bury him under the dirt floor in my cellar. And then I'd go and break their video game consoles. And then put itching powder on my brother's pillow and Nair in his shampoo. Seriously, fuck with my pets, and the crazy WILL come out, and I come from a long line of crazy bitches.
I want to be hopeful and believe they aren't innately without empathy but society certainly teaches them to be this way - narcissistic. Nothing is ever their fault, they never have to take accountability for anything. Young boys are raised this way and they come to expect that the world revolves around them as they grow up.
Men also definitely act differently around their friends. I wouldn't be surprised if it was just your brother, if he possibly would've eventually apologized (albeit begrudgingly), and that since he was around your friend he wanted to act 'cool' or alpha or fucking whatever.
I feel like it's also very typical that many dogs tend to freak out when someone opens the door, whether it's in a good way or a bad way, that's been my personal experience? So if I know the person has a dog, you have to remember to just be careful. You can't just barge in without the possibility of the dog trying to bolt or at least running up and jumping on you etc. They definitely knew they fucked up but as per usual men will always refuse to admit their own wrongdoing even when it's staring them in the face.
Is the poor dog feeling any better? Please send updates. I hate seeing dogs getting hurt. 😭
Damn they really think they're superior to you and the idea of being held accountable by you for anything is painful for them.
I’m sorry about your dog, OP. I hope she’s okay now.
That story reminded me of an ex scrote coworker who killed his own bird by accidentally slamming her in between doors. He said he was playing videogames and didn’t hear the doorbell, then finally, when he answered it, decided to slam it so that he could return to his games asap 🙄. Unfortunately his bird flew through the door at the same time.
