Men always assume they know better...with zero evidence!
Texting a male coworker to verify terminology (his area of knowledge). Claims I got something wrong on my end and that I should get 'someone familiar with this field' to check whether they are any further mistakes. I tell him I'm correct, and he argues (I am quite well-versed compared to others there, so that's really my speciality). I google it, I send him a screenshot that proves my point. Him: "then I was wrong".
Yet he was so quick to challenge my authority 🙉
YES 100%. I find that men needless feel the need to always one up or correct me (when they’re actually the ones that know less). Or mansplain to me what I actually TAUGHT THEM. It’s completely maddening.
Mansplainers have such low self-esteem that they feel the need to prove their intellect.
I had a male even one up me on addiction issues. I had a issue with substance use, I've been sober for years, but I remember in a meeting I mentioned, "I've been in recovery for 26 years since 1995. It would be nice if I got some respect for the wisdom I have attained in that time." And the facilitator of the meeting goes, "Well, I've been in recovery since 1986, so you don't know more than everyone." Huh?! So I retorted, "Addiction isn't a competition!" They just can't let a woman have a win. Even with addiction, he's like, "I've been an addict longer than you so I know more than you." Dude shut the fuck up!!!
