Touring an apartment yesterday a junkie on the street screamed at me "HEY SEXY!!! hi!!!” and fucking exposed himself. I used to have so much compassion for the homeless, and still do for women and families and even men who lose a job and are forced to stay in a shelter or car. But most Street junkies (San Fran, Philly, Seattle, Portland, new York) are fucking degenerates who deserve zero sympathy. Most of them refuse social work help because it would require regular drug testing and breathalyzer at the shelter. These fucking junkies stand on the street corner even in nice areas of big cities with their soiled underpants, exposing themselves to passerby women, several of my coworkers have been assaulted and kicked and I've been charged. Fuck these junkies, I wish I lived in a red state so I wouldn't be the one going to jail for defending myself against these degenerate men. Most of them had a perfectly good life but the women (their mom/Parents, wife, daughters) had to throw them out of the house because they were fucking degenerate junkies. There was even a man in Seattle living in a tent encampment who wandered into the COURTHOUSE and "attempted" to rape a COURTHOUSE EMPLOYEE in the bathroom stall. No, I'm not advocating vigilante justice but shit like that makes me feel like junkies who commit violent offenses should be shot on sight.
Fuck junkies, fuck the bleeding heart liberals who think they "just need housing and clean needles!!" They've fucking tried that approach, putting junkies into hotels at the expense of the taxpayer, look what happened in Washington I think it was called the red lion hotel, the junkies party and trash the rooms and refuse to leave and overdose. Fuck junkie men, let them overdose in their filth. No more Narcan no more sympathy. Let them natural selection themselves out of existence. I've experienced addiction (weed, prescribed benzos) and I stopped cold turkey. Fuck grown men who live on the street assaulting passerbys. Fuck them all go overdose in your tent you fucking loser. Even Savannah said on the podcast that the homeless men in the shelters don't even wipe their ass, they don't clean up after themselves, the bleeding heart social workers have to do it for them because they refuse. Natural selection bitches. This type of shit would get me thrown off Reddit too for being "anti men". Women are shamed for not wanting sexually assaulting, violent junkies wandering the streets they are expected to walk on.
For a woman ending up on the streets in a death sentence and it's not always her fault, usually it's bad circumstances.
A lot of men end up on streets for stupid reasons, their own families abandon them because these guys are just gross to deal with and they don't even try to get better.
If they were just regular folks who had fallen on hard times, then they'd be able to maintain the public campsites, tiny home villages, hotel rooms, public restrooms, and whatever else they are given. You'd have clean tent camps with a roster of resident volunteers maintaining the place, a la government camps for displaced migrant workers in the 1940s. But they are a minority of the homeless. The vast majority have drug issues, mental illnesses, or both. I think that's as true for many of the homeless women I've encountered as it is for the men. The GOP loves to point the finger at blue cities for allowing homeless folks to run wild, but doesn't acknowledge its own policies that have allowed this problem to explode (Reagan administration slashing funding for state mental facilities in the 80s, for example). They're both to blame. What's needed is funding of inpatient mental health and drug treatment first of all, followed by well regulated housing (like halfway houses are staffed). But states can't afford the outrageous costs of healthcare in this country, and the feds are content to let states and municipalities shoulder the cost. NONE OF THAT should be our problem. Women pay taxes, we live by the law, and we deserve to use public facilities for the purposes they were intended, not dodging tents in public parks or campfires/human waste on sidewalks, ffs. In the city I last lived in, there was a long bike trail along a major river that was basically unwalkable for women because it was lined with homeless campsites. Crusty dudes would just sit outside their tents, watching you walk by. Even when on a bike and moving fast, you were taking your chances that there wouldn't be broken glass or just random homeless detritus on the trail. Environmental activists are worried bc the e. coli levels in the river are so high from this quasi-city of homeless people shitting in it that it's killing off fish and wildlife. A young kid was punched in the face by a transient while out walking with his mom, and another woman was murdered in her home by a transient who also raped her and burnt her home to the ground. Both incidents happened in "safe" neighborhoods. The city's Reddit boards are full of hostility toward anyone who says we need to clear these camps. Nextdoor is more realistic but somehow they're all "Karens". The city does nothing because, as with certain other activist causes, the loudest mouths hold sway and everyone else pretends not to mind the steady erosion of civic life. The bottom line is, don't make it our problem. I don't pretend to have the power to change the homeless situation. But while the powers that be figure it out, we don't have to just accept the degradation of the social fabric. What we can do is attend local city and county council meetings, speak up, don't allow ourselves to be guilt tripped or silenced.
"Most of them had a perfectly good life but the women (their mom/Parents, wife, daughters) had to throw them out of the house because they were fucking degenerate junkies." -- I work with someone whose mother just did that to her (junkie) brother.
Someone needed to come out and say it. When I was 19 I dated a guy who turned into a heroin junkie after we broke up, and that really changed my view about homeless drug addicted men. I know it was just one guy, and some men are just down on their luck, but I think what I saw in the man I knew was a glimpse of a collective truth. The truth being: men who use drugs, choose to use them because they’re hell bent on destroying everything they touch, they’re arrogant and believe that they’re invincible and better than everyone else. This guy I dated had a good life when I met him and a caring family, and I had the unfortunate experience of watching him degenerate over the course of a year as he got more and more involved with using cocaine. He turned to that life because of the malevolence in his heart and deserves NO sympathy. And I’m sure that goes for the majority of the junkies on the street.
I don't know, when I see them I wonder what went wrong, maybe once they were "normal." But I'm not naive because I know they're unpredictable and dangerous (I remember cases in which well-intentioned ladies admitted them into their house because they wanted to helo them, only for them to get murdered a while after). I feel worse for homeless women, since they are more vulnerable to sexual abuse, violence, target for pimps and human trafficking...
NYC is being ruined by unhinged mentally ill men. And they keep letting them out of jail ! It makes me sick, I want to visit my family & friends so bad, but it feels so unsafe to be there as a woman. It's not lost on me that most of these attacks are done to women, they never ever run up on men
I love your shameless hate lol this could never be said on reddit indeed and i do agree with you. I feel pity for some of them (specially the ones with pets and children), and the wonen, but i cant help but wonder why they are on the streets and most of them are there because they abused theur family, commited crimes, refuse to be clean....its a tragedy
It actually makes sense that the worst of them would gravitate to a life with no boundaries or responsibilities..and they love to rush up on women as they are getting into their car to catch them off guard so the woman will give them anything in order to get them to leave them alone or escape possible violence. Men love that trick. I hope every woman at least carries pepper spray on her keychain or one of those kitty spikes.
I agree with all of this, I just had a bad experience with a homeless man giving a comment like "you don't have to blank me I'm not going to rob you" with a disgusted look, as if he was entitled to my money or attention... Like yes you could rob me the f?!
And the media portrays us as the bad guys when local government finally tries to push them out of public areas. They call us “Karens” and act like we were complaining about aesthetics. Like women aren’t being chased and attacked.
I have received some of the dirtiest, most derogatory, looking down on me from a high horse-looks from homeless men since I was a very young girl. Some of them would deliberately skip me when begging for money to make clear that they thought something racist or thought I looked poor because I was not 100% caucasian??! or thought SOMETHING/wanted to send me god-knows what dirty message. Meanwhile homeless women have always left me alone and kept to their own business. I have never felt battered or weird after an interaction with homeless women. The same cannot be said for males.
Some hard truths here. Homeless women are usually in their circumstances because men have failed them at every stage of their lives, starting from childhood. No woman enjoys living on the streets--they are exploited, raped, pimped out, and usually end up further abused and used by homeless men. Your average homeless dude is there because of how he has fucked over every person in his life that ever offered him a helping hand. And if a man can't find some misguided pickme to still help him out, well, that says plenty. I think many homeless males actually do enjoy the street life--they can act like the sociopaths they are with pretty much zero consequences. Vancouver BC, my old stomping ground and home of the "free drugs" advocates, is now facing an increasing problem with homeless individuals, usually men, accosting and assaulting people on the street and public transportation. Amazingly, all the clean needles and free drugs haven't curbed the problem of homelessness and drug addiction, go figure! A foreign student was recently severely stabbed by a homeless male junkie at a Tim Horton's as he stood in line for coffee. The downtown core is now filled with human shit on the sidewalks, vandalism, and many businesses are moving elsewhere as a result of the atmosphere. It isn't the homeless women that are creating this hellscape, it's the homeless junkie men.
