Hey y'all I have an in-depth educational post to share today. :) But before proceeding, I just want to briefly thank FDS. I'm not even 20 years old, yet FDS saved my life. I keep recommending my friends (all women and girls <3) about FDS too. When I was on Reddit over a year ago, I was crying about a handsome Tinder match blocking me after I confronted him about him lying to me about his school and being dry in texting + for following porn girls on Instagram. I go to a top university on a full needs-based scholarship btw, and this scrote was clearly intimidated by me because he has a fragile ego despite him liking or even subconsciously objectifying my appearance (a.k.a. everything but my actual personality, so yeah I agree that being f**kzoned is way worse than the friendzoning guys tend to complain about) — that's probably why he lied about which school he went to (which I easily could see was a lie from his Instagram). This all was a while ago, so I have deleted/quit all online dating since then and have become a proud voluntary celibate thanks to me searching about truly feminist dating advice on Reddit and finding FDS. I also regularly read FDS posts, along with videos and books on wealth and philosophy, to level up my life.
Back to the post of honoring the anonymous and now named inventions of women throughout U.S. history:
Some prominent examples of solo women American inventors are
-actress Hedy Lamarr who invented the technology that makes up what is today known as WiFi, GPS, and Bluetooth
-activist Harriet Tubman who created the Underground Railroad
-physicist Chien-Shiung Wu, who contributed to nuclear + particle physics; worked on the Manhattan Project [in World War II] where she co-developed the process of using gaseous diffusion to separate uranium-235 and uranium-238
-creative Clara Driscoll who designed and cut glass into famous lamps
-scientist Rosalind Franklin who discovered DNA but never got credited
-physicist + chemist Marie Curie (not American) who discovered radium and polonium and pioneered the Theory of Radioactivity
-computer scientist Grace Hopper who not only invented the first digital computer but also tried to enlist in the USA military to fight for her country but was rejected due to discrimination
.... and the list goes on!
As you can see, COUNTLESS WOMEN throughout history have never been credited for their inventions. Many of these women died in complete ANONYMITY, meaning you will not hear about them in history books because men who wrote those books did not bother to research them and value their contributions. Nevertheless, this teaches us all to never forget how our society was created by BOTH women and men and in DIVERSE capacities for both groups.
Men who governed this country in the past created laws that forced women into home-making and child-bearing, thus limiting women's opportunities for financial freedom and autonomy/independence. Inventions and participation in male-dominated fields are not limited by gender. Anyone of any gender can do anything and be anything, and countless anonymous women have contributed immensely to our society. Let us always emphasize the indirect and direct (but underheard) contributions of women to male-dominated fields.
Welcome to the revolution! Spread the good word. The more women get onto FDS, the more scrotes are gonna have to lift their game.
I am so glad you have found FDS young! I went through so much abuse until recently and I really hope that the stories you read here really prevent you from being in similar situations. It’s so much work to recover, as you are already learning, and the abuse is EVERYWHERE
you are precious and fierce ❤️🔥
so happy to hear you are thriving
and thank you for your post!
