Recently, it was my aunts death anniversary. She passed due to covid. Her very close friend couldn't attend her funeral because she in the 4th stage of lung of lung cancer. Her immunity was too weak to be exposed during the delta variant. Her friend ended up beating cancer and got better. Unfortunately, it came back. She was staged 4 again and was doing heavy chemotherapy. There are very few cases in my city now. But, believe it or not, her friend came for the death anniversary service after chemotherapy. If anyone has been through chemo or knows what it's like, you'll know that you feel EXTREMELY sick after, but she came. She came because she wanted to come. There are no excuses for behaviour. When an extremely sick woman can pay respects to her friend whose funeral she wasn't able to attend, you can expect more than the bare minimum.

Completely agree. We women do so much for the people we love. Yet we are socialized to expect so little.
This is why I would always value my female friendships over any relationship with a male.
