Just some thoughts on how far I've come

-I don’t use any social media or fill my brain with anything that sexualizes women, panders to the male gaze, or makes woman’s trauma entertainment.

Nudity in a show? Pass. Fitness tiktoks? Pass. 

-I watch movies with multi-dimensional female leads, and tbh and men that have small roles. Movies and shows I can relate to. To name a few: Women Talking, Good Girls, Woman King, Promising Young Woman.   

A Man Called Otto - bore

-I don’t pander or coddle to men. I don’t have any words to comfort your entitlement. 

-I don’t apologize for asking a question or getting a clarification. I don’t apologize for taking up space. For existing.

-I don’t follow anything about sex positivity or body positivity. (I get that maybe it can be helpful for some women.) I’m tired of the focus on a women’s body. 

-You want to invalidate my reality? Nice try. Not going to talk to you.

-Women only groups. FDS and other online support groups. I only go to female doctors and counselors (when I have the option), and female fitness instructors. 

-I don’t dress for the male gaze. I don’t sexualize myself. I focus on style and comfort. I have sh*t to do. 

-Aging? That’s part of life. For every human.

-I am focusing on making my money, getting my stability, based on my knowledge, experience and network. I am not going to get dolled up in the hopes some guy will give me that (either directly or via a job or opportunity). 

-I am unashamedly known to support women. (sometimes it’s not safe to say feminism, sexism or patriarchy in some spaces). 

Now I haven’t dated in awhile. Don’t know how that will go. But what I do know that the first thing I will vet for is a man respecting me as a human, respecting what I say as my truth, respecting my boundaries, and valuing time spent with me.
