It wasn’t intentional. I just happened to have had a great day. I was dressed impeccably, and had just had a friendly interaction with someone at the grocery store. As I was leaving, I saw a figure approaching and smiled. It was her. She visibly shrunk in my presence. She smiled back, looking confused and, unmistakably, defeated.
Queens, this just goes to show: our happiness IS our revenge. This woman not only had an affair with my now ex-husband in our home, but she had the audacity to get involved in our custody battle, stating to the court that my ex should have full custody (when she had never even met me). Because we live in a small town, I’ve run into her frequently. The first time, I gave her the stankiest look, and she just straight up laughed. From then on, I treated her as if she was invisible- I couldn’t bear to even look at her. This went on for years. But this moment, this was the one that sealed the deal: I win.
Remember: they want to see us angry. Seeing us happy- really, authentically happy- that is what breaks them.
Live your best lives, Queens. The rest will sort itself out.
Love it. I bet she blanched because she’s now being made miserable by your ex while you are now fabulous and free.
Had a triangle situation with two women in college. First friend I thought I got along with well but one semester she allowed another young woman to push me out. At the time I was miffed for a hot minute then got over it; I was in college, married the first time or about to be, just busy with life. Years later the young woman who actively pushed me away came up and asked me where L, our mutual friend was. I smiled at her and as OP said, she wilted with shame. I had killed her with kindness and all of a sudden everything dawned on me. Win all around. I had risen above effortlessly and she knew what she did.
Love this for you!!!!💕💕💕
