Today, I went to my favourite restaurant which is known for its family sharing aspect. My parents couldn't make it and I'm currently trying to make new friends. I sat alone and ate alone. I only ordered one item which is not as much as the waitress liked but whatever lol
This is awesome I hope I can work up the courage to go to more upscale places alone.
Congrats!!!
This is a huge step towards living a HV life. The solo dine is the epitome of independence and self-love
I didn't realize that this is a self-love milestone. I've been doing this for years, and I love that I can tip extra because it's just me.
I looooove going to restaurants on my own! So peaceful, and I can order as much as I want.
If it’s a place you like to frequent, and your meal is pretty inexpensive, I always like to leave at least a $5 tip for the waitress. I feel like $5 can at least get them a coffee. So if my meal is only $11 or $15 for example, and 20% would only be $2 or $3, I like to at least leave them $5.
Well done! More solo dines to come 😁
I once ate alone at a cafe and saw a 4-5 women eating alone, as well. One was reading a book, another was people-observing. It was a very wholesome sight.
Congrats. There's something special about doing things alone.
That’s big, congrats! I’ve gotten in the habit of going to cafes by myself, the goal is to be comfortable going to restaurants next.
As an introvert I love dining by myself.
I love love going to restaurants alone, movies alone and traveling alone!!! I’ve been doing this for years. I have also done so many times to re-read FDS and enjoy my solo time.
I love doing that! I actually reclaimed my perception of a grill spot on a farm that I enjoyed , my ex brought me the first time and I enjoyed it so much more by myself, and spent less money!
Yesssss! I took myself to the premium restaurants when I took a cruise by myself recently. I loved getting extra attention from the wait staff! At one of them, I even struck up a conversation with the couple sitting next to me. They were in their 80s, and completely fascinating as far as their shared interest in the arts. I like how this classy couple sensed I was open to talking !!!

Good for you! It gets easier, I promise. Now I prefer to eat alone. And I always go to nice places.
