I hate that it’s become a conservative position, but I absolutely agree with not “gender-neutral-washing” the language of women and girls.
For instance, when Roe was repealed, liberals were protesting the right for “people” to have abortions. Only women and girls need abortions. It’s insulting and dangerous for governments to use language implying otherwise. It erases our femaleness and opens the doorway to discrimination on the basis of sex.
Women's freedom shouldn't be a left or right thing. If anything you would expect it would come from the left. But somehow the left has abandoned women. As well as other minority/disadvantaged groups/part os society that they deem less marginalised facepalm.I know we hear these far left voices, but I do wonder whether moderate left folks are still sane... if they're out there, too, just not so loud.

We need to stop thinking about this as liberal vs conservative. This is women against men. Period. It does not matter if those women identify as Republicans. I am in solidarity with ALL women, no matter their political affiliation , who are against this dangerous woke agenda that is being pushed forth BY MEN to conquer and erase us ALL as women.
The only reason why it seems like this is a conservative issue, or that only the conservatives are fighting for women's rights, is because the left is no longer the democratic party we always knew and loved!! We have to accept this new reality that the left is no longer for the people! The left has gone so far off the leftist deep end, that the rest of us, including myself, who identified as life long a Democratic liberal, no longer identify with the party as it stands today. And not because WE have changed, but because the democratic party has changed! They have gone so far off the deep end that it has left the rest of us behind. So now us life long democrats have been inadvertently been shoved to the right of the political spectrum,.not of our own free will, but because the democratic party has lost is forking marbles!!

The left has abandoned women and disabled people. Disabled people are the largest minority group in America, but the left thinks we should all go die for capitalism. Or the Democrats do, I don't think the true left Progressive people do. But who knows, it seems like everyone wants disabled people to go die so they don't have to be reminded of their own mortality.
I can't stand anything about Republicans, but I'm with them on this. People keep talking about how trans men can get pregnant, but can they if they are taking so much testosterone they grow a beard? They aren't ovulating at that point.
And honestly I'm very much a Live And let Live kind of person, but I am such a huge misandrist lately that it extends to trans people because they are either men trying to be women or women trying to be men & I am not interested in dealing with men at all.
This is a good point, and it piked another question in my mind. Not only do we not know the long term health impacts of transitioning, but who knows what the impacts would be on an unborn child carried by a 'trans man'?? Surely that hormone treatment would hav esome impact. Even if they stop during the pregnancy?

So I would swear my phone read our conversation here but I randomly saw this on the internet today.
This is just an essay, not a study or anything, but this lady claims that hormones change your DNA.
1. It's a shame it's a conservative issue, because liberals will now double down on idiotic policies.

3. Doesn't fix the cause, just the symptoms. The cause is that something is mentally wrong with some men, and instead of getting boring old therapy, science is now milking money out of them with stupid surgeries and us women now have to deal with sad mutilated men running around doing crazy shit, as if we were janitors for failed parenting.
As a society, we were so used to right wingers being wrong about everything, it's a shock to the system to see the left wing fuck up so badly. But wrong clocks are right twice a day, so I get why conservatives want to seize the moment.
To me, it's the ultimate expression of buying your way to happiness. Unhappy? Buy clothes, buy fake boobs, buy buy buy a personality in hopes that all this shopping will fill the void in your soul. Doctors are more than happy to sell you all the pills and surgery you ever wanted, because it's all about making you happy, donchaknow? You need to express yourself! And you can only express your true self by spending money!

What I have seen on political social media is that trans support has been used to drown out any criticism of the Democrats.

Saying pregnant person is most definitely offensive because only females can get pregnant. Sick person or healthy person can be male or female. Having this apathetic stance on semantics is the how we got here in the first place..we kept giving concessions. "Oh well that word isn't that bad!" Yes it is!! Because words like these are a slippery slope to allow mentally ill males believe they can give birth to children.
Yea I mean if that term existed in a vacuum it wouldn't be particularly offensive, but you're right about the slippery slope thing. We give them that one and before we know it were "menstruating uterus ovary egg producing vulva bodies who bleed." Because as I said in another comment it's not about inclusion, it's about sperm producing bodies with penises colonizing and redefining our experiences and making new rules for how we're allowed to exist in the world that suit only them.
Like if they were willing to just stop there then I would compromise but they aren't because inclusion isn't actually the goal
