Love this.
Believe me, if people did adequate estate planning, no one would be more on board than me. But unfortunately, middle class boomers don't, and they view it as something for the wealthy. It's a difficult cultural norm to overcome. I have copious professional experience with this, but I don't want to say any more because I am in a niche field and can easily dox myself.
That said, if we are discussing legal matters, POAs, TOD deeds and wills are much cheaper, easier, and more accessible to the average person than are trusts, prenups, and contested divorces. In fact, the instruments that I use and professionally recommend do not even require a lawyer's preparation in most cases. This is something to keep in mind.
I'm 38, lol.
Savannah’s sister is so great! Refreshing to hear the lived experiences from an actual married FDS woman who is based, is ::::genuinely happily married:::: (the opposite of some breakingmom-tastic cope)… instead of folks who have such weirdly extreme & falsely-dichotomized views of The Institution of Marriage: either putting it on a bizarre pedestal 🙄 or going to the other extreme of It’s The State Controlling Women As Property, "just a piece of paaaaaperrrr" 🙄🙄
Well done!!! 👏👏👏 (Divorced is my fave marital status of all. 💅🏾)
Idk if I can bring myself to listen to another one of these.
Marriage is always the preferred arrangement of hetero relationships. In that marriage is always more beneficial compared to forever girlfriending it up (the only caveat is extreme wealth or later in life wealth management on a second marriage- 99.99% of women don't have that caveat apply to them, stop trying to tell me I need to copy celebrities)
The comparison between marriage and single hood is the only worthwhile comparison. You are single until married -those are the two comparable states
