I'm uncomfortable with women calling themselves femcels because they are describing a completely different set of situations than male incels. However, the episode was excellent and pretty much summed up my thoughts on the matter. I could identify as a femcel but don't. Just because I refuse to have sex with low-quality males AND there are too many of them, doesn't make me a femcel. Just like I'm not starving when I'm on a diet that limits me to only healthy foods.
"Pretty privilege is female oppression." YESS 👏 Once you level up, you realize male attention is cheap and worthless and pretty privilege becomes nothing more than a lie. It's a crime that society has convinced women that they're hideous trolls who don't deserve love. As the podcast ladies would say, "You were born female. You won."
I have been wondering lately if I would fall into the Femcel category, so I appreciated this podcast! Doesn't sound like I do. I don't desire to have a man in my life romantically/sexually, I just don't have the energy to put toward it at this point. But I do think very highly of myself, I think I'm nice looking and have a great personality, I'm successful in my life and career. Ultimately I guess I'm just not interested in *trying* find someone, if I stumble into a "meet-cute" at some point then great! But I'm not going to waste my energy sifting through the dumpster looking for a fresh piece of fruit anymore.
Femcel sounds like an insult.
