Hi ladies,
I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for podcasts in history or mythology, preferably with a female host lol. Location doesn't really matter, I would love to have baseline knowledge of everywhere.
I'd even broaden that out to any sort of fun "learning" podcasts.
Outside of FDS, I have a couple financial podcasts I listen to, but I'm trying to extend my collection to include more arts, humanities, and social sciences.
If I could be college student forever, I would be!
I love what you wrote about being a college student forever! Why can't someone just pay me to learn things all day? At least we can be a student of life no matter our age.
Here are some podcasts about goddesses, mythology, and women in history. I hope they are useful!

The more i listen the more I realize that the reason more women don’t figure in our mainstream history is that history writers (primarily men) either conveniently ignored them or misrepresented their role, importance or influence. The men have taken all the credit for HIStory. Typical! Then we’re taught this HIStory to justify present day oppression and norms.
For history I’m really liking The Exploress:
Thanks for this post and all the suggestions. I hope to find something else to listen to. I’m very particular about what I listen to, if the voices are annoying or the audio quality poor I can’t do it.
There are a couple of Georgette Heyer podcasts that I listen to- she wrote the first Regency romances - they’re rather like Pride and Prejudice. Very witty and highly researched, zero sex, and mostly HVM leads. (Please don’t write her off as Bridgerton, literally every single Regency romance author after her is derivative).
I also listen to Gastropod, two women who explore the ‘science and history of food’ it is fantastic.
I find Ellie Dadhwood's videos on Jane Austen era very entertaining.
I also liked BBC series by woman about lives of different classes of women through history.
HISTORY TEA TIME WITH LINDSAY HOLLIDAY!!! Sorry I shouted that, but it's true. She uncovers women's history, but be warned it's mostly European royals type stuff. I finished her First Ladies US series and it. Is. Awesome. She has a YT and podcast but I'll reccomennd YT because there's pictures to help you follow along.
