H&M: Harry & Meghan. Haters & Misogyny. (FDS PODCAST EP. 94)

I haven't listened to this podcast yet, but yes - haters and misogyny 100%. I never paid the royal family much mind as an American until Meghan became involved, and it became very clear, very quickly, how utterly vile and racist the press, the Firm (or whatever TF it's called) and a significant portion of the the UK population still is. Harry and Meghan were being relentlessly attacked for being more popular and progressive than stiff Wills and Kate-plus Meghan being biracial - it's obvious.

Kate eats an avocado and single-handedly prevents global warming, Meghan eats an avocado and is single-handedly responsible for Amazon deforestation. It's the same game the right-wing U.S. press played when President Obama was elected - absolutely bonkers criticism and blowing the tiniest things out of proportion because he's black, liberal, and in a position of power and influence.

But they never admit THAT'S the reason- they'll contort themselves in million knots claiming they hate this person because "they're ruining America" "they're the anti-christ" "they're a narc" but it's simple bigotry and mulish resistance to progress and change.

I wish Harry and Meghan and their children all the best in their new life in California - I'm happy they got away from that gilded circus. It's what Diana would have wanted....she might not have gotten the peace and freedom she deserved, but at least her son and grandchildren can finally have it.

PS: Idk how much stock any of you put into MBTI stuff, but as an INFJ I'm a certified narc detective, and the whole "Meghan being a narcissist" doesn't cut the mustard with me. She's not. She's a relatively down-to-earth celeb as far as celebs go. And Harry is a pretty down-to-earth Royal.

I'm not British and I haven't really followed all this mess but I has always struck me as inconsistent that they claim to want to cut ties with the "toxic"/old-fashioned Royal family and live their own life and not be harrassed by the press anymore but then they do the exact opposite: use every opportunity to gain money and publicity from their royal status, sit in all the famous talk shows and even make a huge documentary about their private lives (and earn a lot of money that way).

If you want a quiet, "normal" life with your kids away from all the circus... why do you invite the circus into your home by airing your dirty laundry and family conflicts in public (and monetize them) again and again? I'm pretty sure their in-laws in Britain would love nothing more than to keep the whole thing quiet and out of the press. Megan and Harry are the ones making headlines about it again and again. Don't get me wrong: I absolutely believe her when she say that she wasn't welcomed with open arms and didn't have is easy there. But what (other than publicity and money) are they trying to gain with all this?

To be very honest, I don't follow any news or info about that couple and I don't have any knowledge about them. This is only because my gut feeling screams that they are not what they say they are. I have come across opinions on both sides. I can't help but think Meghan is trying to handle this like celebrities do(ethical or not) which is definitely not the way a person with Royal upbringing would. But this is just me as an outsider commenting based on just a gut feeling and not much knowledge.

Growing up, i reads of humiliating press about Catherine. Her (self made millionaire) family apparently was trashiest in all England. She was a commoner (4 mil wealth and same college as william), “coal miner” granddaughter , waity kaity, lazy kate etc journalists where taking photos of her naked at beach or from windows, taking pictures of her underwear when she was living the car, photoshop so she looked wasted on drugs and after years they suddenly love her! She was with william in her college years, no ring & all unhinged press. I am thinking if it even was worth it? She already was rich with good college, her sister just married a rich investor and lives her best life without much trash from press.

Sounds like William's public relations people really had me going, because I've been under the impression he's alright - after all, I hadn't heard about any scandals involving him.

Anyone who doesn't pay much attention to current royal kerfuffles just isn't going to hear anything bad about William. I only heard about Andrew because everyone heard about Andrew.

I have a soft spot for QEII, so when she was around I was hesitant to take a side in this conflict. But now? I'll be here munching popcorn and getting entertained by the "Harry and Megan making trouble for royal scrotes" show. Go get 'em! 😆

Everyone online is saying how Megan is a narcissist. Is she? Theodore is roasting her online detail by detail.

Harry and Meghan are proven liars, which has come to light ever since the Oprah interview. and she is a malignant narcissist. People don't like them because they are unlikable, grifting, entitled, and have left a trail of bereft family, bullied staff, and frustrated associates behind them. Tom Bower's and Valentine Low's books lay out the details in painstaking fashion. Funnily enough, the sue-happy couple are not suing these authors, because they know they would lose the case, and so much more dirt would be spilled in court. This is not a problem of racism, and it never was. The world does not like this couple for many, many valid reasons, and wants them to just go away and live the life of privacy they were bleating about when they chose to leave their previous employers, the royal family. They have been on a mission to destroy the family ever since, all because the family told them "no" and set limits for the boundaries they were trying to bulldoze over. Luckily, more and more people are seeing through them, and true A-listers want nothing to do with them.
