I related hard to the statement that most women who think they're asexual just haven't been given the freedom (by their society or themselves) to learn what they actual find attractive. I identified as asexual in highschool thru college because I never felt the desire to date or bed any guy. But the reality is most of the men around me are unattractive (southern USA), and I bought into eQuAlItY so I thought I'd be "just as bad as men" if I ever objectified the male body.
Allowing myself to blatantly objectify men I find attractive (basically celebrities) has made me realize I'm not asexual - the average man is just really, REALLY unappealing.
I feel exactly the same sis. I used to think I didn't have a type either....but in fact, I do! It's like my sexuality is hibernating until I see my kind of guy (which is rare) and it comes roaring back.
I guess the opposite of this is men constantly thrumming since 99% of us are actually attractive and care about how we look. Talk about male privilege smh....
Loved the discussion of how attractive men are depicted in erotica - always tall, strong hot body, good hair, and notices the woman is special/appreciates her unique traits in a non-abusive manner. There obv are no dad bods, short dudes and baldies! 🤣 Yet the dominant culture keeps trying to normalize ugly men.
SO GOOD ladies. The hormones/libido connection is strong. The Book "28 Days" by Gabrielle Lichterman is great for learning about natural hormonal cycles and sex drive.
Also...in addition to men's bodies, their faces are also really important for our attraction! Obviously every woman has different preferences, but the face is important too.
