I have had multiple male bosses who didn't have any life (let alone friends) outside of work and basically forced us - their employees - to replace them.
There was a constant pressure to meet and do stuff with them outside of scheduled work hours starting with having dinner with them after events that run late and going to awkward, forced weekend activities. Obviously it was not considered work and unpaid and we were all expected to pay for our drinks, food etc. ourselves. They seriously considered it fun and thought everyone was enjoying spending their fucking weekend with their boss and colleagues or having dinner with the boss and listening to them ramble instead of going home to their own lifes, families and friends.
I worked at a school where my employer wanted us to all rent a cabin together. Everyone was acting like it was a normal thing. Like I'm sorry but don't want to wake up to the dam principal in pajamas. I'm good😂.
