When a guy tries me to engage in conversation about their "crypto venture", the look that crosses my face is, "So, you're broke?"
I can't respect, nor be attracted to a guy who throws themselves into an imaginary coin. The sentiment echoed by these people that "As soon as crypto hits $1.00 and I'll be a millionaire!" vaguely reminds me of the statement on billboards I've seen for gamblers to get help. It reads, "I just know my luck will turn around".
Everyone, we can't afford to let a man gamble with our futures as a whole. As soon as you hear crypto or some other kind of "get rich quick" scheme, run far, far away! Let them bankrupt themselves, not drag you into it.
That reminds me of a highschool classmate I ran into last year. She fit the stereotype of Highschool Classmate Joins MLM lol.
At first, everything was going fine we were having some laughs about adulting etc. Then while we were talking she says, "I'm working with a couple and they're mentoring me on how to run a successful business!" My naive ass was like good for you sweetheart!
The next thing I know, she's telling me, "Yeah, they're teaching me how to retire by 30š."Ā I was staring at her like, girl, we're 27 years old, what do you mean you're going to retire in three years lmfao. I told her good luck w/ your journey and existed the conversation immediately lol!Ā
She had the nerve to call me the next day and I blocked her. She was probably calling me about some get rich quick nonsense lol. From that day I on I made a promise to myself to never engage with highschool classmates again lol.
I know a LVM who was constantly bragging that he was going to be super rich, āHave fun staying poor,ā being a general obnoxious asshole about his crypto and telling us we were losers for not investing. He tried to get me to invest and mocked me when I told him Iām good with my index funds.
He lost his entire life savings in the FTX Ponzi schemeā¦.. Everything. He sold his house, put that in crypto. Gone. Heās still putting all his money into crypto.
I would feel bad expect he's a pretty awful person.
Not a huge fan of him in general (or of his borderline obsessive fans), but Coffeezilla's youtube channel is a good resource for watching crypto bros get scammed.
