My ex loved to play violent games and got downright gleeful when they presented him with an in-game choice to trigger a sex scene. 🙄 It felt really degrading having to witness this.
Computer game addiction is very likely to be included in DSM-6 (the next diagnostic statistic manual for mental illnesses). There’s nothing cute or adorable about participating in another person‘s addiction and supporting their disorder.

Look, my bf and I both like to play video games. So we always play them together. And we have often just paused the game and forgotten about it because we were too busy cuddling, talking, or doing... something else 😁 If you're both into games, it can be a fun couple's activity. Not to mention we don't like violent games, we play stuff like Mario and Zelda and Pokemon. As always, it's not the thing, it's about the LV-ness (or lack thereof) of character. But yeah, the overlap between gamers and LVM is very, very high.
Honestly he's the first man I've ever seen who has a healthy relationship with gaming. For me, it's a great vetting tool. How long does he play? Does he have other interests? What is it he appreciates about the game he plays? Will he get irritable and aggressive when playing? Does he want to play with you or just be left alone? And, does he expect weird gaming/sex crossovers? (I can't tell you the number of men who said their fantasy was getting a blowjob while playing...) Luckily my partner clears all of the bars with ease. Gaming is not his biggest passion, nor is it mine. Recently we've been very into board games though. The haptic experience is very satisfying.
