Hi! I (44F) am currently 36 weeks pregnant with a boy. I currently have 3 daughters, so this will be a new challenge. Can anyone recommend resources or tips to help me raise him to be high value? Thank you!
This is a relief to find this post and information. My long term relationship ended a few years ago. It was very traumatic in different ways. With the state of dating and amount of abusive men out there, I think I could be a better role model on my own. I'm an older woman that society would class as past it but I don't view it that way until menopause hits. I'd be a first time mom and scared shtless but if I want a family, I wouldn't rely on my ex and I've got to start soon. I would need PGD with IVF I think but it's costly at E14K, if it works. I think I'm most scared of dying in childbirth lol coz the health system has gotten worse since pandemic. Has anyone found one clinic better over another?
Congratulations! have rules and boundaries and stick to them consistently, and make sure your partner backs you up. And a BIG yes to restricting internet access (Porn and general safety).
When he's old enough, mention qualities that make a man "good" or admirable. "A good man provides for his family", "a good man calls out other men when they say something sexist", "A good man protects women". Point out that women don't want low value men.
Don't let them pressure you into inducing early. There's something very fishy going on lately where male doctors are completely self-centred and have no regard for the mother or baby, and book the L&D around their own plans because they don't want to be on call during a game of golf, or the weekend!Tons of complications when they induce at 37, 38 weeks, most needing emergency c-sections because the whole contraction thing is out of whack. If they tell you at a checkup you have 'high blood pressure' and want to rush you in and start picotin, tell them to get stuffed. His head isn't "too big", women give birth to babies at 41 weeks just fine.
imo, this is leading to many problems in early age because what should be 18 months is actually 17, and so the baby is technically underweight for whatever procedure or drug they want to give. Undeveloped lungs, rise in asthma lately.
Boys are more prone to drug reactions because testosterone is a multiplier.
This may seem completely unrelated to your question, but honestly the increase in premature births is leading to a lifetime of sickly people, which affects quality of life. People can't achieve greatness in the field they love if they're constantly chugging medication and stressing about their illness.
Give him the best shot at being a stress-free HVM by letting him grow to full term in the safest place, your uterus. And don't give him devices lol.
Absolutely. As an older mom, I am fully aware of the whole induction scheme. I have already had several conversations with my doctor in this regard, so I feel pretty good (still not letting my guard down, though!). I also have a great support system, so I am very lucky there.

Congrats! No special treatment that you wouldn’t give to your daughters. Boys get an easier ride. Don’t slack on parenting him. I’ve noticed some men have been emotionally neglected growing up and now they’ve turned out emotionally stunted 😞
Thank you! I 100% see and agree with this! I think it is much more pronounced with older generations (my parents love to spew that “he’s just being a boy” garbage). I definitely won’t give him special treatment. I just want to be proactive in teaching him to value women properly.
It really is. I should also mention that I only have one ovary/fallopian tube and pretty advanced endometriosis. And still, after 6 months, it happened. I call BS on women “expiring” at 30.
Tbh, I don't intend to undermine what you say, but that does happen for women from the ages 40-50 (again, this is highly dependent on different factors such as health, source:sociology class). But women can still get pregnant with donor eggs/sperm.
You’re absolutely right. I know that am probably an outlier, and I certainly don’t recommend that anyone wait based on my experience.

Are you married to a HVM? that is 90% of it . Otherwise I would restrict his Internet access since the average age for a boy to find porn is 11 and their young mind isn't developed enough to cope with the addiction and depravity.
Have you listened to the Gail Dines episodes of the podcast? She had some great insights!

Hi! My I ask you if this was a natural pregnancy or IVF? Just because I was wondering about freezing eggs. Thank you
