I do love that South Korean pop culture is presenting to women all over the world images of handsome and kind romantic partners. Most romantic K-dramas are written by women. They're writing fantasy - what women want from a partner - and this is why they're so popular. When western women arrive in South Korea hoping they can maybe meet a nice Korean man like the ones they've see on tv, they realise that actually, scrotes are everywhere. Sorry to be a downer, but South Korea has some of the highest gender inequality in the advanced industrialised world.
But yeah, they're definitely better looking than the fat, balding men on offer where I live 😂
The visceral hatred kpop gets (especially calling all Korean men "twinks") is just racism. Racism against Asians is somehow always the last if ever to be called out. It also reminds me a lot of the "metrosexual" term movement men had because women prefer men who are well dressed, groomed and hygienic. God forbid. The romance really puts the nail in the coffin, too. And with how talented most of these Korean celebrities are? Oooooh. American men could never keep up.
Love the pic of Lee Know though. Stan Stray Kids 😘✌
What’s also interesting is the way men are so clearly intimidated by attractive males. They expect women to care about “competition” but the moment you compare them to others they react like this. Korean and Japanese music is actually very nuanced and there’s beautiful art within the popular music scene.

The problem is that if they aren't careful, they're going to get a WWII, spear babies on bayonettes and rape the village women, kind of Asian. Or the husband that cheats and beats his wife, which is like 40% in Korea. It's weird though how some of the men I've gotten the most human affection from are Asians. Especially talking career. I've actually only experienced a positive attitude from Asian men when discussing my career moves. They're genuinely happy for career women, from what I've experienced, and it makes no sense to me, since a lot of Asian countries are intensely patriarchal.
What's interesting to me is that in some STEM fields, you get far less Western women than men- yet amongst Asians there will be a 50/50 split. I think it could be they're willing to spend more money on a good education for girls.

Definitely explained my Korean twink phase. I love those twinks
Me as I watch my Korean dramas and respond to this post. It’s “See You in my 19th Life”, and “Strong Girl Nam Soon” btw lol
Why do I watch these dramas? It’s because I like how the male leads treat their Female leads in the episodes. I like how all of them dress.
It’s my form of escapism from the men who show up to dates in sweats, and stained t-shirts. I want to see men who take care of themselves, wear suits, and chase after girls they desire.

We owe so much to whoever came up with the term Twink Death. The fact that there's a male version of the wall is just 🤌🤌🤌
