I was unbelievably excited when I saw coverage in the usually libfem-centric New York Times this morning on (single, white, upper middle class) women combining economic resources into a single household to raise their children without men. Could it possibly be that most men are detrimental to the financial and mental health of women and children when they are in a household together? Could such a thing be true?? 😅 I personally think at a societal level, unbroken female kinship networks and households of mothers and other women raising children together is the most advantageous to both women and children and it's heartening to see that idea come out of the "fringe". When we invest in each other, we win. As the article points out, this is functionally how many minority communities already work. Though in contrast to the example set by these women, many insist on having a male "head of household" who does jack shit but sit on his ass all night, or are full of pickmes cycling a catastrophic series of unreliable boyfriends into their families for the sake of "having a man". Ch-ch-ch-check it out! https://www.nytimes.com/2023/05/12/realestate/single-mother-households-co-living.html?searchResultPosition=1

I read the article and overall loved it! Men are not stable or reliable. I think it’s beautiful to build a women-centric household in which women support each other and their children.
