I've seen threads about trusting our intuition/fear when looking for a relationship with a HVM, but none (AFAIK) about other areas in life. So today I'd like to explore the subject under a different context.
My specific situation involves trying to buy an apartment. It's currently mission impossible, but I have some money I have specifically saved up for this, and a family member who might be able to help me.
Thing is, this is a huge financial commitment and it makes me extremely scared. I have visited one specific place I'm interested in three times now, and everytime I leave feeling very sad. Like, depressed sad. I think it's because it's very expensive and I'm not sure Ill be able to pay for it. The more math I do the more confused I get. The extra expenses and bureocracy are so complicated and make me even more confused. Besides, I keep thinking about everything that could go wrong and how this dream could become a nightmare (it has happened before in different areas of my life). Buying a place to call home is one of my biggest dreams and a big "pain point" regarding my mental health. So everything related to this is very stressful, very heavy to me.
All this being said, I would like to know from y'all how you think intuition may play a part in a situation like this. Are my sadness, stress and anxiety regarding this particular issue a result of my intuition telling me I should wait/give up? Or is this just normal fear of a big financial commitment? How do I get in touch with my intuition in this scenario?
I was terrified and sick to my stomach when I was about to purchase my home. What if something went wrong? What if I lost my job and couldnt pay the mortgage?
Years later I realize it was one of the best decions of my entire life. Rent, Home prices and interest rates have skyrocketed but none of it affects me. And someday I hope to turn my starter home into rental property so it earns money for me.
If you can afford it, you should probably purchase a home. It can be a great way to build wealth.
When I was house hunting, I left a really cool townhome in a nice area feeling exactly the way you describe. The reason? That townhome wasn't for me. It didn't mesh with me on a certain level and that's why I reacted the way I did. That being said, it is very important for women to own their own property.
My advice: expand your search! Visit more buildings! Really get to know the area you're looking for property in. What can you work with? What is a MUST?
Astrologically, how you're feeling makes sense with the intense things going on in the sky right now. Breathe. If you can wait, wait a bit.
If you can't (or don't want to) wait, all you can do is be as informed as possible and make the best decision possible with what's in front of you. Sometimes its the right thing to jump on an opportunity, sometimes better to wait. But making a decision good either way.
If you decide to go ahead and everything goes to ish, Worst thing that can happen is you need to sell, but you've gained some equity!! not so bad.
everyone's going to have different advice. some will say, "buy only within your price range", some will say "more forward on intuition &/or faith, even if it's more than you intended/expected to commit to". There are valid reasons, and potential risks and draw backs for both.
Both/either of these work for people/situations. in life there is always a space of uncertainty, things we can;t predict.
I have made financial decisions both from intuition and also from logic. In both cases, some of those things worked out, and some didn't.
Sorry I don;t have 'an answer' for you, because I don't believe there 'is one', and also, that's kinda your job to figure out ;)
BUT, I do want to acknowledge you for posting here, and congratulate you for even being in a position to buy a place of your own. No small feat! Amazing.
With regards to your questions re getting in touch w your intuition, see what works for you? if you need some ideas: you could sit in quiet, still meditation, or perhaps movement/dance is what works for you? Going out into nature? Having a bath? a stretch? Journalling? A walk?
I will say that fear/scarcity is not intuition though, it's fear.
Hope some of this helps! i wish you well!! I'm sure you'll find the right place for you at the right time, whether that's this apartment, or another one!
(In my case - i recently made a big financial decision based on logic and intuition (intuition getting me over the line) and it has backfired. I should be able to get out of it (not a property), but it's been a pain in the butt. But as I said, it has worked out ok as well in the past. No hard and fast rule!)
