"It’s a mantra we internalise from an early age: tick-tock, tick-tock, time’s running out, you’re not getting any younger, must get pregnant by the age of 30, etc etc. There is no doubt, though, that the average age at which women are having children has been steadily rising for years".
"It’s part of a bigger trend that sees us getting married and buying our first home later; government policies in recent years haven’t helped either, with the multitude of barriers to procreation including extortionate childcare costs and limited paternity leave".
The wall is a lie.
And though the chances of a perfect birth go down with age, women can have healthy kids well into our forties - especially with medicine.
More research needs to be done on old, dusty sperm. I have a feeling a lot of this has to do with older women having older partners who have old sperm.
Did you read the article? It literally says science can only do so much and that even with science the women who are getting pregnant in their 40’s and 50’s AREN’T using their own eggs. They’re using the eggs of younger, more fertile women.
Please read the article and don’t pretend that science has magically broken the fertility window. It hasn’t. Biology still trumps science. If any woman on here wants to have kids but doesn’t want to rush to find a man FREEZE YOUR EGGS WHILE YOU’RE YOUNG! It’s got an 85% chance VS the 10% chance you’d have trying to concieve yourself at 40.
