I’m thinking of getting my tubes tied. I know I don’t want children at all and with the overturn of Roe v wade in the US, discussions about overturning it in Canada have been happening and my best bet to protect myself is to get my tubes tied.
Has anyone had any experience with this in Canada? I’m still doing more research on this but would love to hear any experience any of you have had.
I did it about 6 years ago.
It was totally paid for by MSP. Very easy procedure, I have had no issues. Highly recommend
I'm in the UK so don't know the specifics of your healthcare system, but I was able to get a bilateral salpingectomy done on the NHS three years ago with no fuss. I specifically requested that procedure as the NHS usually only offers ligation using clips on the fallopian tubes and that quite frankly wasn't enough for me, I wanted those fuckers GONE. So have a think about the specific procedure you'd like first and do some research on it. I also prepared a 4-page written statement detailing my position and setting out a solid case as to why I considered it to be the only suitable option to meet my needs, which was taken very seriously. I'm not sure that the consultant I initially spoke to would have been as happy to refer me on for surgery without it, so you might consider doing something similar.
Whats the law in canada that theyre talking about overturning?
is there a canadian equivalent to roe and wade?
