Sometimes I think zoomers really missed out on the moments of peace before smartphones popped up in 2010s. You can reclaim your life, your energy, your focus. Use app timers, focus mode (Android), black and white mode, delete social media (I kept Instagram for decor and food and nature posts-no human bodies or faces or commenting). It's a really fulfilling way to live. Use your phone for music, calling, maps... Don't give your whole life away to put money in the pockets of tech executives. Have better energy for dating, better focus for your job .. please, don't be a slave to your phone anymore!

I don't care for Bari Weiss but I did find an interview with the same author on YouTube. It's about 2.5 hours long, so I haven't finished it yet. But, I like what he's saying so far. Have you read the book? I'm thinking of getting it. I think it would be a great discussion for us to have here bc it's relevant to leveling up.
Agreed 💯… I only use my phone for this sub, podcasts, reading the handbook, music plus connecting with friends and family on WhatsApp. That’s all. It feels amazing.
I feel this SO much. Before I had my iphone I remember just living in the present and having great mental health. Recently my mental health has been super struggling. All the news is just way too much. Now, I did that screen timer thing a few weeks ago and I was spending 8 hours on social media a DAY! Insane!!! So I set two hour limits and such and it went down, but then a week or so ago I decided to just delete em off my phone. Now I have to actually log in on my computer to check my socials and so I haven’t been on social media at all lol. It’s too much effort to pull out my laptop which I rarely use, try and find a wifi, and then to manually log in with a pass and username just to check twitter. My mental health is becoming a LOT better just from deleting em. Rn I have discord, this app, and youtube as the only socials and I have limits set up for em, too. It’s amazing how much better you feel when you aren’t bombarded with a bunch of stuff all the time and how much more time you have in a day!
God I really wanna know how to do this. I also work in advertising, so social media is a big part of my job. It's really hard to do this without throwing myself completely out of the loop (something that I can't do if I want to stay relevant)
Yes girl. Haven’t listened to the podcast yet but recently I set screen limits for my phone. I followed this famous Japanese male socialite’s strategy - 15 minutes app limit on your iphone. Ask someone to set the password for you. He got a stranger to do it for him so he will never know the damn password. I asked my sista to do it for me so IDK the password to the app limit. I no longer back and forth text men, and there are limits on all my social media. Exception to this forum now but maybe I’ll put a limit too. Humans tend to bypass limits so I do sometimes end up using social media on my computer but I’m not glued to my phone as much anymore. It works.
