Name one time period when the average woman could trust (especially male) law enforcement officers more than she can today (which is not very much). One time period, when even a rich, educated, "honorable", well-connected woman could be sure that she will be believed and treated with respect if she e.g. went there to report a rape or her husband abusing her and her children.
Law enforcement has never been on the side of women.

The police are a magnet for scrotes who want access to an ounce of unearned authority so they can live out their power-tripping fantasies. They have never been a trustworthy institution.

Also security workers in general. As soon as they get an uniform they begin to mansplain and act like those ridiculous FBI-Agents they watch on TV because they desperatly dream of such bullshit.

OMG this has happened to me twice! I briefly dated a cop, and he looked me up on his cop computer to see if I had a record. Then I went on 2 dates with a postal worker, and he used his government computer to find out where I lived. I came home one day with flowers at my door from him. On the face of it, seems sweet, but really it's extremely creepy for him to use his government computer to find where I lived, without my consent or knowledge. I yelled at him that it was an invasion of privacy, and that if I wanted him to know where I lived I would have told him!!! Then i marched into the post office and made a report with his supervisor. YUP. Got that stalker in trouble! And side note, I told this same story on r/ask men and wouldn't you know several men attacked me saying that I was the crazy one for fucking with his job! Rofl ok! It is a 3rd degree computer crime to use government computers for personal gains, but I'm the one to blame for telling his job. He fucked around and found out!

That sounds horrible. Im so sorry this happened to you. Stalkers are the worst. They ALWAYS play the victim if they get caught. And men are unfortunatly often covering these creeps (because, let's be honest, most man are creeps themselves and they know it). Congratulation on having him reported. 🏆✨️You did the absolutely right thing. He is the one to blame and I hope he got his ass ripped by his supervisor.
You never could.
