This is kinda weird but I want to get a new type that will:
Keep my lips hydrated in winter for long period of time
Not be that kind that you have to apply with your finger
No flavoring or scent
Not insane price (the kinds you get near the checkout at Walmart is fine)
Not Burt's Bees, Carmex, or the Chapstick brand
I suspect the Carmex I'm using now is drying out my lips. What do you ladies at FDS like to use?
Atm im using Vaseline. Honestly i have the overly dry lips, I find it hard to find a good lip balm. This one is ok for now, but I’ve gone through most lip balm brands and i haven’t found one yet i can really stick to. Something i found has helped my lips tho is~ when putting on my skincare for my face, I include my lips. Like i put my hyaluronic acid serum and moisturiser on my lips too, and top it off with my lip balm to seal it all in~ it’s really helped!
You should try making your own. You can use olive oil and beeswax or a different oil if you like. I bought empty lip balm tubes on Amazon and made like 20-30 tubes last year. They keep my lips sooo soft and I give them as gifts all the time too.
I use Aquaphor healing ointment.
I swear by Laneige’s Lip Glowy Balm. It’s overpriced, I know, but oh my god it’s so nourishing, hydrating, and makes my lips feel so juicy!
I use the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask at night, which I also love, but the Glowy Balm is just divine. The gummy bear scent is everything!!!
Edit: whoops, just realised you want unscented. Can't help you there sorry!
Just curious, what's wrong with Burt's Bees?
Aquaphor lip ointment, Lucas papaw/Dr. Pawpaw ointment, or lanolips may be good
There were some studies that found that Carmex actually irritates your lips. I used it for about a month and I had to reapply nearly every hour. Even then my lips always tingled and got so flakey it was disgusting. It was so bad! I'm not sure why it doesn't have a worse reputation.
I tried Vaseline but I really didn't like the smell/flavour so now I use mainly Burts Bees or Crazy Rumours. When I want something unscented I go for Nivea Hydro Care. It's in a tube, there's no scent/flavour and it's pretty cheap. Haven't had any flakiness or tingles for years so they must all be working!
Laneige lip sleeping mask in berry. 👄
Nivea lip balm is pretty good for keeping your lips moisturized. They have the plain lip balm and tinted variety in the tube version
Weldea if it's available where you live
Vaseline and I will stand by that till the day I die.
Thanks for all the recs! I truly appreciate all the different brand choices I got now!
I love Gurleain
JACK BLACK LIP BALM WITH SPF!!!
My favorite is Lanolips. It comes in a traditional turn-up stick or you can get an ointment tube. I am chronically super dry, and it's the only one that lasts for a while or through eating. It's more expensive, like $22 USD for a stick but they're big sticks and a little goes a LOOOONG way. My second favorite is the Aquaphor Lip Repair Stick, I think you can get that one at the grocery store or drug store.
I also use the Laniege overnight lip mask religiously, it helps a lot with how dry my lips get during the day.
